Here it is - Announcement re More FP+ Beginning 4/28

Maybe. Maybe not. There are many people who will just book their 3 fp's and that will be it. Of those people, many do not even use all 3 fp's.

I don't like the fact that Disney is forcing FP's on people who wouldn't normally use them and who don't even want them.

Remember, it's no longer "Magic YOUR Way." It's "Magic THEIR Way." It all makes sense then.

Sorry if this has been posted already as I ready the first 5 pages of the thread and then the last two...but I got an email from Disney that says the following:

Today we are excited to share that starting on Monday, April 28, 2014, all Walt Disney World® Resort Guests will be able to make additional FastPass+ selections at in-park kiosks after they have redeemed their original (up to three) selections.

•Guests will be able to make one additional selection at a time, based on availability. After they redeem that additional selection, they can go to a FastPass+ kiosk to make another selection, and so on. (The additional FastPass+ selections must be made at a kiosk only.)
•Guests will be able to make their additional selection(s) for an experience at which they already redeemed a FastPass+ selection earlier that day.
•Guests with valid park-hopping privileges will be able to make their additional selection(s) at another park. Those selections must be made at a kiosk in the park where the desired experience is located.

Key note on the second bullet point...you CAN make a FP+ selection for a ride you already rode with your fourth FP+ choice.

So, I may be moving some FPs around. We'll be starting our days in other parks and then hopping to MK to do the secondary rides with our "extra" FPs.

You bet your FP that I'll be checking around noon to see what's left each day.

Thank you both so much for sharing your information! You both just answered a lot of my questions! I think my dislike of waiting in a line outweighs my need for headliners, so I will aim for scheduling my 3 FP+ earlier in the day, and then just take what I can get in the afternoon. I'll be there in May (24 days!!!!) and will see how it goes!

Will I have the ability to get additional Fp for my family without taking all the bracelets? Before you took the cards, so if think so. Just the bracelets will be a PIA to remove from the kids.

I tend to think that they planned on using these "extra" slots to sell or incentivize guests to stay onsite but that dissatisfaction was so high they had to add them back into the system.

That of course is based on absolutely nothing. :p

Nothing except all that Haterade you drink!! Gosh, try some kool-aid next time ;)

When I was there in February the app wasn't working so I went to a kiosk to change FP+ for a couple family members while they ate. I was able to modify theirs no problem using my band, but I was the reservation holder. Don't know if that makes a difference or not.

I think its a step in the right direction, I'm happy that we will be able to make our additional FPs for rides we've already done. Hopefully they will change the rule that you have to use the kiosk to make the additional ones so that we can use the app, that would eliminate the need to be in the 2nd park to make your additional FPs for there. In the meantime I sure hope they put more kiosks out, if what was posted about only 6 in MK is true that is nowhere near enough to accomodate all the guests who are going to be using them

How many kiosks does MK have? Does anyone here know?

From easywdw:

"FastPass+ Kiosks:

Fantasyland: Storybook Circus in the very back tent near Pete’s Silly Sideshow
Adventureland: Jungle Cruise old FASTPASS machines to the left of the entrance
Adventureland: Breezeway to the right of Diamond Horseshoe, across from Treehouse
Fantasyland: To the right of Mickey’s PhilharMagic
Tomorrowland: To the left of the Stitch’s Great Escape entrance
Tomorrowland: Buzz Lightyear’s old FASTPASS machines to the right of the entrance
Main Street: Town Square Theater just inside the entrance on the right"

From reading the article, it seems as though the kiosks will be our only option for now. I think this will eventually change to allow us to make those 4th and so on fastpass reservations from our phone apps at some point. I don't like the idea of having to stand in a long kiosk line just to wait on another fp return line later which may or may not be long. This makes me wonder if i'm going to save any time at all or if i'm actually going to waste more time waiting in line. Of course, adding more kiosks and allowing guests to use the phones to make those extra fp reservations could make a huge difference.

Just out of curiosity, I wonder why they would choose to implement this at kiosks first and then roll over to the phone app as you suggest?

Hi! Based in your Legacy FP experience, do you think that's probably to have splash mountain fastpass available for 14:00 or 14:30 returning time around 11:30? I'm going to Magic Kingdom for the first time in mid May and everyday WDW announces something new. This isn't helping my plans :)

Of course there are multiple kiosks at each of these locations, so the total number is unknown.

No doubt easier to implement the software change at the kiosks.

I think it's because they want to make sure when you hop to a different park that you were actually in the park before you make the fast pass reservation. It may also discourage people from making that fourth one if they have to go find a kiosk and wait in a line. Does seem silly when the whole purpose was to be able to use technology and use the app.

I don't like this, now everyone is going to be standing in kiosk lines to stand in fast pass lines. Just seems dumb. Standing in the line builds excitement and anticipation. I wish people would stop rushing and enjoy the moment. I went to HS NYE in 2010 and we stood in very long lines in a very crowded park, but we still had a blast. I just don't get this current trend :confused3

relax and wait in line...:hippie:

If they want to make sure you are in the park, they just need to enable GPS in smartphone at the moment of reservation. Seaworld and Busch Gardens apps, for example, just run with all features when you are inside the park.

I don't go to WDW to relax and stand in line. I'm not sure this is a current trend, most people I know have never "had a blast" spending most of their theme park day in 2 hour lines for rides. Its great that you can have a fabulous time doing that, but I'm not sure what you don't get about others not having the same experience as you :confused3
