Here it is - Announcement re More FP+ Beginning 4/28

here is where its getting interesting for an average family:

- you book your FP+ for early in the morning.

- you wait to get your 4th, 5th, 6th one for the evening - assuming ANY additional FP+ are available for the rides you want.

my take is that I would rather take my chances early in the morning to get 2-3 rides at RD and than leave 3 FP+ for the evening for the rides I want.

I just can't force myself to make FP+ from 9am to noon and than "Hope" that I will get ANYTHING for the afternoon. I mean if you take MK as an example - the park is extremely busy in the afternoon / evening times due to parade / fireworks.

I would rather take my chance on RD to get 2-3 rides in the first 60 minutes of the park opening than hoping I will get anything in the evening.

2 things- one techie, one business: Techie They're sectioning the day of FP's that you can make in-Park from the same data monstrosity everyone around the world is pinging on to make future ressies for many performance reasons (they didn't invest huge amounts of cash in those kiosks and their infra to have them go away anytime soon...) Business They'd rather you didn't hop but stayed in the Park you're in. They don't want guests banging on the app to see what's available in the next Park, grab it, and go. That's why the kiosks, that's why they're now sectioning off FP's from the broader pool, that's why you'll only be able to see what's available for the 4th, 5th or 6th in the Park you are in.
. However they are giving free park hopper upgrades to people booking 5 or more days. Makes no sense.

How about this one?

Actually I was leaning more towards this one...

Let's blow this system UP!:cool1:

That's my thought too. Also, I'm not standing in a line to stand in a line. I just think that's dumb :rolleyes2 I think this is more of a discouragement more than anything or just a limited option to those who seem to always have to complain about something...;)

This is, has been my plan all along . Perfect for park hopping unless you want to go to 3 parks ;) FP+ is here to stay and it keeps getting tweaked for the better just as I knew it would !! Disney just keeps the Magic rolling :wizard:

Yes it does. It encourages people to book 5 days instead of 3 or 4.

"Oh Honey, look! Free park hopping for 5 stay. Let's stay one more night!"

which means...another night in a hotel, spending more money for food and stroller rentals and all the other little things people don't think about. Adds up to a lot of $$$$ for Disney and people don't park hop as much as they plan to, at least from my experience.

Hmm, a free Marketing throwaway (most will never use), versus a 1-2 billion dollar investment to keep you in the Park to spend more (or out sooner to spend more if you're on-site).

Those Marketing folks. It's amazing what they'll come up with to make you feel like you're getting something for your money....

This is not what I was thinking when the first article mentioned park hopping. I was hoping to use MDE to book at multiple parks. Also this might bottle neck morning ride times if the masses figure out they can benefit from using the 3 early. Just mirroring everyone's comments hoping that Disney is listening- I will definitely be replying to every survey.

Here you go Sammie!!!!! Tom Staggs made it a point to say "As we’ve said from the beginning, MyMagic+ will continue to evolve over time with the aim of continuing to improve our guests’ experience with us and in response to feedback from our guests. Today’s news is another chapter of that story and we look forward to sharing more with you as we continue to roll out and refine MyMagic+. Continue checking the Disney Parks Blog for more details."

This is all the proof you need! :thumbsup2 Man- I sure am glad I listened to Disney, you and the other people I just mentioned earlier.......because if I had listen to them I may have foolishly cancelled my trip.....nothing has turned out to be the way they all claimed it was going to be. Some of them said they were never going to Disney again because of FastPass+ and now they're here pretending like they didn't say that. Mmmm hmmm....they know who they are. :rotfl2:

It's always interesting to me when two people can read the exact same quote and take away two totally different meanings. One person may read this as, "We always meant to do this. This was our plan all along." I read "response to feedback from our guests" as meaning "lots of people were complaining, so we had to make changes."

I honestly have no idea what Disney's endgame is with all of this. I don't know what their initial plans were, but I would guess they were unprepared for the volume of complaints. If this was their plan all along, I don' think that's much consolation for people whose trips have taken trips in the past four months with the limitation of only three FPs per day.

I am very happy about this change, and I am glad that I voiced my concerns to Disney and that the concerns are being addressed.

I think they are being dishonest and trying to trick their customers. I've been going since 1971 and I will continue to go however they are taking advantage of their hard earned goodwill over the years. Including mine.

The fact that you honestly seem to think that the reason these changes were made had nothing to do with the people who complained, the number of people who cancelled trips or APs and told Disney the reason why was FP+ ... that is the real funny thing here.

Seriously, get a clue.

Funny, because if I recall when this change was first announced many of the lovers were all NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO don't ruin it! My flexibility! My rope drop! No Disney, NO!

I was going to say...weren't a lot of people who generally like FP+ very not happy with this announcement when it first came out?

Personally I'm not going to label it as a good or bad change until we see the effect it has. If it mimics FP-, great. If it's a step towards reservation riding, no thank you.
:thumbsup2. ITA. I hope that this will be a positive change, but I am still waiting to see how it all unfolds before I make any judgments...same as I have been since this roll-out began

Oh, the irony...huh? :lmao: They suddenly feel brilliant, when in all reality, they should probably be thanking people like us.:lmao: Don't get me wrong. I think the system still sucks, but if nothing else...we have learned that 4>3.

ETA - I am stoked that they at least changed this in time for your trip, Bro. Put it to a true test!

You know I am sure for some this is hard to accept, but some of us truly understood, about rope drop, etc, etc; but honestly we didn't do it because we did not understand or research or whatever, we didn't do it because we did not "want" to.

Just like you wanted to, we didn't. It's all good just different.

We weren't uninformed or lazy or whatever, we just wanted to do it "our" way. There is no "best" way.

I didn't read her post and interpret it as meaning DISers/informed visitors who chose not to maximie the FP system because they valued a different touring style. My impression was that she was more referring to the 50% of guests who didn't use legacy FP- in the first place because they didn't know about it/understand it - that those same people weren't likely to put the effort into maximizing FP+, since they didn't with legacy FP...

Disney has always said from the beginning that FastPass+ is testing and to expect changes as they receive constructive feedback from guests who visited the parks during testing like yourself. Whether you liked the system or not.... I am so glad you provided feedback. Disney had already said that they required feedback from people who actually visit the parks to make all of this work..... and that they will make changes based on that feedback. I'm so glad to hear that you are happy with the changes! Thank you for being a good sport about all of this-----Disney needs good people to continue test this as it helps them to fine tune the system making it better for all of us. I'm sorry but I just don't see how refusing to go to Disney and complaining on a message board is considered to be feedback.

Tom Staggs just said that this system will continue to evolve and this update is just another chapter. Of course none of what he says matters. He is just the Chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resort. :thumbsup2

This is the same Disney that said most people use less than 3 FP- based on their data, right?

Oh, and by complaining about them on a message board and not giving them my money gives me hope that they are actually capable of reading and not relying on their impeccable data.;)

Stagg's bolded sentence above (when you finish bolding the rest of the sentence....) actually says that from the beginning Disney said MM+ would evolve over time, to improve guest experience, *based on guest feedback*...not that these changes were planned from the beginning, as the PP implied.

Oh, and FTR, I have not once said I would never go to Disney again.

Get a clue about what????? Giving random people on a message board credit for all of their lies. NOTHING that you people have said has ever come true. I don't know why you expect people to take you seriously at this point. I thought Disney was going to shut down or go up in smoke or something unless Legacy FastPass was put back in place-----New Coke and all that---- remember????? :rotfl2: Some of you said this could never work and that Disney was in this "big trouble"------however- they are not. Disney is doing just fine. I have no horse in this race as I am going to Disney and I am going to have a great time. I wish you the same. Disney has been keeping their word..... and so far I like what I see. It's all good. :thumbsup2
