Last WDW trip was shortly after genie+ rolled out in 2021. Hubby and I are looking at a quick trip June 26-29 staying at shades. 3 day tickets. Below is my general plan. This is kinda budget trip.

Monday- flight lands at 9am. Plan is Epcot. We would have the extended evening hours if they continue on Monday. Priorities are guardians, Remy, and dinner at teppan Edo.

Plan would be to virtual que guardians at 1pm or 6pm (can you do both?!). Not planning on buying genie+ or individual lightening lanes this day. Tho I am putting a cushion in the budget. Might buy the lightening lane for guardians at 7am to make sure we get on.. but wondering if it's necessary? Can you still choose your time when choosing an ILL?

Tuesday- Hollywood studios. My only priority here is to watch Fantasmic. We've rode everything else multiple times .. on both coasts. Will use early entry but I want to enjoy some character meets and shows here more than rides. Plan to take a break and maybe go to DTD. Don't plan to buy genie+. What gems are here maybe I don't know about?

Wednesday: Magic kingdom. Might buy genie+ this day. Will deff use early entry. Don't plan to buy any ILL- even tho I do love mine train. Main goal is to see HEA and ride tron. We would have three chances this day with the extended hours to get a virtual que for Tron. Again- we love all the rides but we want to take a more relaxed approach to finding other gems in the park. I for one anticipate spending time on the people mover.

Thursday- travel home

Yes, you can do both. They're not connected like the 7 AM and 1 PM drops are.

Yes, you still choose your time when buying an ILL$. Some guests triple dip - get a VQ at 7 or 1, another VQ at 6, and buy an ILL$ - to ride three times in one day!

I don't have answers to your other questions, sorry.

DHS we like to wander around and enjoy the ambiance, for us, mostly Galaxy's Edge, but also the other areas as well.

I've done ILL for GoG, and I'm not sure, but I think I did get to pick my time.

This wasn't your question, but have you stayed at Shades before and used their transportation, esp to DHS and MK in the a.m.? (Or will you have your own car?)

Shades will be new to us but their transportation is my biggest con. But the extended hours/cost are my trade off. My guess is it's going to be better to walk to the poly in the morning..

It's a beautiful resort, staff is great, and the rooms are spacious. We love it there and have a summer trip planned. My teen prefers Shades over most, if not all, WDW resorts. I hope you love it too! :)

For your DHS day, if you want to get ahead of the crowd for EE, I agree and def would recommend walking over to take a Poly bus or doing rideshare (have never done the latter to the parks). SOG bus shares with AK, and AK is the first stop. Once it went to DHS first since 90%+ of the bus was going there. That was unusual though.

For MK, if you make the first bus of the day, it's not difficult to get to EE. I prefer Poly/monorail, but last time we did Shades transportation to the Ticket and Transportation Center, and was surprised at how easy it was. I suspect the 2nd and 3rd buses out would be more difficult to get to MK very early.

Super helpful! Thank you!

If you have access to the internet on your Epcot morning, I believe you can try for the virtual que for Guardians at 7 am since you are a hotel guest for the day.

I love all the shows at HS and have been known to spend the entire day just watching them and not riding a single ride. Also, love the HBD lounge. It's great for people watching and just relaxing.

If your goal for MK is just the FWs and Tron, I don't see any reason to buy Genie+. Yes, it will be summer and yes there will crowds and yes the lines will be long but since you aren't focusing on rides, inside shows and things like CoP and Liberty Bell can be fun and less crowded. Again, once spent an entire morning/early afternoon at MK just doing Hall of Presidents, Liberty Bell, Country Bears, watching the parade, CoP and Peoplemover. I go often so sometimes I'm just not in the mood for rides.

Just an fyi for your planning, this hasn't been announced yet but there's a good chance Guardians will no longer be on virtual queue by the time your trip arrives. With Tron being a VQ ride, they may move Guardians off of VQ; they've done the same when introducing other VQ rides so there's only one VQ at a time (RotR moved to standby when Remy launched, and Remy moved to standby when Guardians launched)

Will deff be watching for changes. Will buy a ILL if needed as it's a priority for the trip.

I doubt both Guardians and Tron will be on VQ. You'll probably have to pay for Guardians.

Scott Gustin reported a few days ago on Twitter that this will not be happening.
