I just saw this headline while searching for, you guessed, airline tickets. The cheapest I have found out of BWI is over 700. for the four of us. I have decided to move my dates and take advantage of disney's air tran deal. (just in case anyone hasn't noticed, call disney directly and ask for the air tran to mco deal. you can only get it for aug/sept. I think.)

I can't post the URL, but it is from MSNBC news

You’d better get moving! Airline ticket prices are up and, with rising fuel prices, set to go higher. Last week, the major airlines boosted leisure fares by about $10 roundtrip. Despite the higher prices, people are buying tickets and the planes are filling up. In March, the average plane for most of the big carriers took off with 8 out of 10 seats filled. planes are going to be packed this summer, “with the average plane being 90 percent filled.” That means the chances of the typical summer blow-out sale are slim.

Trippler tells me that in 38 years in the business he has never seen summer air travel selling as quickly as this year. “People are realizing that fares are probably not going to come down, so when they find a good fare, a fare that they feel is a fair price, they’re taking it and that’s my recommendation

Good luck everyone! These airfares can make or break a vacation budget!

 :yay:

I know what you mea. We also travel out of BWI. We are having the worst time getting a good price and time for our return from our cruise. When SW opened their schedules for after Aug. 3, they opened with the most popular already blocked out. Our choices now are spend the extra money to travel home when we would like to go home, get off the ship at 9 AM and take th 8 PM flight home (getting home probably close to midnight), or stay one extra day. I hope we decide tonight.

Good luck to you too.

We got our airfare a while back, so we are fine. But I looked around just to see if we had waited what would we find. It seems like if you can fly from a Tuesday to a Tuesday you can get a better airfare than if you do a weekend to weekend.

So if you are flexible with dates, you may want to try that when booking your flights.

What is the deal Disney has with Air Tran? I am considering going to WDW in August and AirTran flies out of our local airport. Can I call Disney just to find out what the deal is or is there somewhere else I can get this information?

DIS Boards has such great information!

Disney is running a $129 plus fees and tax RT deal through AirTran. It worked out to be $157 per ticket for us non-stop out of Philly.

Thank goodness I have 1 free rapid rewards flight for our June trip .I paid less last year for the 3 of us to go from BWI to LAX then I did this year for MCO.

I might get a reduction but I'm not counting on it.The dings have been horrible out of BWI mostly tues & wedn travel only.If this trend continues I will do a different booking for next June (dec is already booked and won't be changing those dates) from early to mid-week.Oh well might get me a few extra days.

There was an article in todays newpaper on Jet Blue. Basically what it said is that Jet Blue wants to have the average ticket price per seat to go up to $105. You might still find cheaper but I would not expect it.

I am booked for $79 one way from BWI to MCO in Sept. with SW. I have to wait for SW to extend its schedule so I can book my return flight. I wonder if prices will increase between now and that schedule extension--time will tell.
