Great day yesterday Holly!:teeth: You should be very proud of yourself!!
For exercise, even taking the boys out for a walk is an awesome workout. I will tell you, when my DD was 16 mos old, I was out of work for about 10 mos. I used to put her in the stroller and off we'd go. I walked fast, up and down all the hills in our neighborhood (and there is A LOT of them!;) ) I was in great shape in no time. I walked a good 45 min to an hour with her. My arms looked great too from pushing 10 lbs of stroller plus 20 lbs of kid!:smooth: I brought a water bottle for me and a milk bottle for her. She loved it, it was quality, fresh air time and I was getting in shape. ::yes:: I've thought about borrowing a niece or nephew (I've got 15 of them  ) and heading out for a stroll once again!
I hope today goes just as well as yesterday!!:hyper:

Hi Holly,

I just wanted to drop by and say what a great job you've been doing. I can relate to the gift shop. I have to walk by ours at least 3X a shift. What's worse is there's a coffee shop/bakery in our hospital's atrium. We get to smell baking cinnamon rolls in the morning. It should be illegal. Great job resisting those treats.
Beth

The bad news is I broke down today....I couldn't resist the *evil* gift shop any longer:( But the good news is...I worked it into my plan so I didn't "cheat". I had a rough (totally an understatement) morning with my kids and a not so good start to my work day so by lunch I was exhausted (as usual) and stressed. I ate my lunch but still wanted something else so I ended up buying a bag of M&Ms. I deducted the points for them and I after I finished the bag I realized they were not worth the 5 points I spent on them! (I can't believe it's ME saying such a thing :p ) But 5 points will get me a lot of food, I think in future that's gonna stop the gift shop trips.
I just checked the weather & it's supposed to be in the 50's tomorrow so I am gonna try to break out the double stroller and take the kids out like you suggested Sharon. I know exercise will make such a difference in my energy levels, my moods, and my weight loss but I still have so many good excuses to not exercise that I need to use yet;)
DH & I have a babysitter, which is rare, on Sat. I asked him if instead of the usual dinner & a movie if we could go skating and to my surprise he agreed. I have been asking him to go skating with me for 8 years now & have yet to go but hopefully that's what we'll be doing on our date. At least that will give me some exercise. OK well I've yapped enough, here's what I had today...

28 points/35 flex points to use-

Smart One- 4 points
choc ice cream cup-2 points
16 oz water

Smart One- 4 points
cooked carrots w/spray butter-1.5 points
16 oz water

black beans & rice-6 points
orange- 1 point
16 oz water

M&Ms-5 points

two FF waffles w/spray butter-2 points
syrup- 1 point
orange-1 point
32 oz water

27.5 points used for the day/ 80 oz water

Hope everyone had a good day, talk to ya soon!!

WE CAN DO IT!!!

BTW, thanks so much to all of you who stop by to offer encourgement and advice...it helps so much:grouphug:

Holly that bear at the bottom of your signature is lookin mighty fine!! Good for you. And that is awesome that you had the M&Ms and still kept within your pts. AND, more importantly, learned that maybe you DON"T need them as much as you thought!;) These are the things that will help you achiev goal and then to maintain it!::yes::
I think its great to go for that walk. Keep the boys interested by looking for squirrels or birds, red trucks....whatever. Keep a count of how many you see (teaches them counting skills) and then, next walk, see if you can beat that number. That way, they ask YOU to go for the walk!;) My DS daycare provider used to take him for a walk everyday, no matter the weather. He is still excited when he sees a squirrel! Just make sure you layer the clothes and take gloves. 50 certainly sounds WONDERFUL, but even a little wind will deminish the enjoyment if your not warm enough.
Have a great day Holly! Heres some extra :sunny: for your walk!!

Hi Holly~
Thanks for posting in my journal and for the encouragement that you left there!

You are doing a great job! It is wonderful that you were able to treat yourself to the M & Ms and still stay in your point range!

Your Saturday night sounds like a lot of fun! I hope that you and DH have a great time!

By the way.... if you don't mind me asking, where do you live in Ohio? We live in Twinsburg which is halfway between Cleveland and Akron and home of the annual "Twins Days Festival".:D :D

Have a great weekend!:Pinkbounc

hey holly, you're doing a great job sticking to your points! way to work in those m&m's, and even better to learn from them. i find that when i want to "cheat" on something that's high points and not filling, it's a good idea to first sit down with the points, and think about what else i could have for those points. like in your case, 5 points for the m&ms, you already said, would get you soooo much food. like, 5 apples. or a peanut butter sandwich on light wheat PLUS a banana. or a whole frozen smart ones/lean cuisine type meal. or so many other things. makes you put it into perspecitve a bit ::yes:: . but at the same time, sometimes, we just need chocolate :p

and skating sounds like such a blast! a very nice change from the normal dinner and movie. it's so fun to do things where you actually get moving. i love skating, maybe i should find somewhere to go do that this weekend too. you're inspiring me :hyper: . have a wonderful time, i know you will :teeth:

hope you have a great day today :sunny:

Today was my weigh in at WW and I lost....drum roll please....
3.8 lbs!!!! That's a total of 5 lbs in 2 weeks!!! I am so excited
:hyper: I think journeling, water and this board is making all the difference this time!!!

I didn't have a chance to post yesterday & I didn't get a chance to go walking as I had hoped to do. But I did end up doing about 40 minutes of a Richard Simmons tape which was fun and got me moving. I will be moving today also, today is our date (me & DH) and we're going skating (if he doesn't chicken out). I hope it works out that we go, I love skating but haven't gone for years.

Well here's my list of what I ate yesterday...

My date was a big disappointment:( I knew DH did not want to go skating but he told me he would go. We went to the roller rink about 5:30pm and it was packed, couldn't even find a parking spot so we left. Finally we agreed to go bowling, got to the bowling alley about 6pm, went in & were told that we couldn't bowl until 9pm. From there we went to a couple stores & walked around. Finally about 7:30pm we went to the ice skating rink, went in & timing was perfect, public skating had just started, it wasn't very crowed, I was so excited. Once we get inside DH chickened out & said no way he's going to skate (he's never ice skated), he was scared he was going to fall & make a fool out of himself:mad: I was so upset I had to fight back tears...I had been looking forward to this!! By this time it was to late to do the movie thing so we decided to go out to dinner. We drove to restaurant after restaurant, everywhere besides fast-food had a min wait of 45 minutes. At about 8:30 I just said forget it. We went & picked the kids up from the sitter, picked up some fast-food (KFC) and went home. What a waste!!!

But there is a silver lining to this story. While doing all that running around I became very hungry, by the time we did finally eat I was almost shaky I was so hungry. Normally under circumstances like last night my eyes would have been bigger then my stomach, I would have just said screw this plan & ordered a gigantic meal of whatever I wanted without thinking twice about it. But even being as upset and hungry as I was last night I pulled in the drive thru, got out my WW book and figured out exactly what I had enough points from & that's what I ordered. I was very proud of myself for sticking to plan under such a stressful situation (DH & I were not even really speaking by that point). Finally after we got home, had dinner & relaxed we both calmed down & everything is fine between us now. So the moral of this for me is just because I get stressed & upset I don't have to give up my new WOL, I just have to deal with the problems, food does not make everything better.

Well here is what I ended up eating yesterday...

:wave2: Hi Holly,
I hope it's okay if I post to your journal. I'm new here so I've been "lurking" more than posting to other's journals. I just wanted to say how great I think it is that you have lost 5 pounds in two weeks :Pinkbounc ! Sorry your date didn't go as you planned but at least you found out you are able to stick with your plan even under trying circumstances :D . I did want to ask you a question. I noticed in your food log you have LC bagel. What does the LC stand for? I LOVE bagels but I've been depriving myself of them and if there were some out there I could consider, I'd love to try them.

Valerie,

Hi, & thanks for dropping in, I love company!! Anyway the bagels are Thomas low carb bagels, only 2 WW points & very good, I found them in the bread section at Krogers with all the other bagels.

Holly

Today has been a fairly good day. I stayed within my point range but I have just been wanting to snack all day. I guess it may have something to due with the fact I didn't drink as much water as I have been. Oh well, new month tomorrow & it's gonna be a great one!!! Here's what I ate today....

Good morning, Holly!:sunny: Here's some sunshine for your new week and month! I was reading over your journal and am inspired by your date story. . .what a good example you are of sticking to the plan even when it's tough! Thanks for writing all the details; I'm going to remember this story all week.

Have a terrific day!
Erin

Hi Holly!:wave2:
Sorry your date was a bust.:( But, wow! You did a great job not giving in to the emotional eating urge!!! That is SUCH an important urge to overcome. We have to look at everything we put in our mouths and make sure we are eating it because we want it, not because we are bored, mad, sad.......And if we give in to emotional eating urges everytime we are upset, this journey to healthier living is gonna get awfully LONG!!! Good for you for keeping your head and ordering what fit within your pts!

The rest of your weekend looks like it went well. Next date, just pick a restaurant that has food you can fit in to your WOL, go see the movie and avoid all the stress. Make a date with the kids instead for the activity dates!;) You know, a nice walk at the park, mall, shore....

I hope you have a great day and that it is FILLED with :sunny: :sunny: !!!!

Hi Holly,

I hate when things don't go as planned on those rare nights out. You did a fabulous job staying on plan. Emotional eating is so hard for me to overcome. You did an amazing job.

Have a great Monday.
Beth

Hi Holly! You are doing very well staying w/i your points. Maybe adding some fiber will help you overcome the hungry feeling. Here's to a great new month! :hyper: I hope you have a wonderful day! :sunny:

Hi Holly!
I'm sorry to hear that date night didn't turn out how you would have liked it to. Here's hoping that your next date night w/hubby will be fabulous!

Thank you for posting in my journal! It's a small world after all... my DH's uncle lives in the same city as you do! it's a small world after all.... it's a small world after all Sorry.... just a little Monday morning humor.;)

Keep up the good work and have a fabulous week!:sunny:

Tracy:teeth: :wave2:

hey holly, sorry your date didn't turn out so well, that just stinks! but you did a great job sticking to your eating plan and not giving in to your emotions! you definitely get a gold star for that :)

you're doing a great job staying within your points, even on a day like yesterday where all you wanted to do was snack! i can understand the urge. but you made it work, great job. keep up the good work! hope you have a great day today :sunny:

Holly, I know everyone else has said it but I think you did a FABULOUS job staying on plan in spite of your date night disappointment. If you love to skate, maybe you could enroll in a class just to meet others. Once you have some friends to skate with, you can enjoy it without DH! ::yes::

:Pinkbounc Congrats on that beautiful clippie!! :Pinkbounc

You worked hard for it and it won't be long until you can trade it for another one! :sunny:
