Park open now 28 minutes and OMG the crowds. Thank goodness it stays open until 11 and we have a toddler who parties like a rock star- looks like we are doing the People Mover and Carousel of Progress today! At least until after the parade tonight. Lol

OP, Are you staying on-site or off? I'm assuming off-site if you are talking about doing the People Mover & Carousel of Progress. What are the lines like at the FP+ kiosks?

TC :cool1:

Confused....just checked the wait times and the only rides over 30 min are PP and ETWB. Lots of rides are 10 mins. I don't want to sound snarky, is the app wrong? Wondering if it feels crowded b/c of backups due to scanning bands for FP+. Other posters have said that has caused the parks to look very contested.

Remember that the actual test of how busy it is in the attraction wait times NOT the crowding of walk ways and common areas.

The planning site said MK should be crowd level 5. Is that the case? Or is it much higher than that?

I am staying on site. Jungle cruise line is INSANE. Been in line since 11, it's now 12:07 and we still have at LEAST 10 more minutes.
Not fun.
We have fast passes but in second half of the day for princess meets and the Belle show thing.

Ok, got towards the front, thought we were almost there, then realized there was an entire other side. After standing in line over an hour, we just left jungle cruise.
Standby wait time says 90 minutes. I would be using bad words right now but trying to be Disney-friendly. Holy cow.

Wow that's long, there's no way I'm waiting that long for jungle :(

Isn't this the beginning of Spring Break season?

We usually go in the offseason and even in February have seen long lines (60+ minutes) at Jungle Cruise.

When we were there 3 years ago the jungle cruise lines were really long as well. About an hour and that was before fp+

We are now sitting at the Crystal Palace, which compared to what's going on outside, is calm like a library.
It's cray-cray outside.

What I meant by the comment about people mover and carousel, is that I believe those might be the only 2 rides we can see today bc everything else here is jammed. It's like full-on summer crowds on a Saturday.

Thankfully, the park is open until 11, and hopefully after 7/8 the park will die down a bit and the kids/families will clear out. I hope. Ugh.

So if you were considering popping in today, don't bother.
On a positive note, the other 3 parks MUST be empty! Lol

Yes. Crazy as that seems.

I've noticed a huge uptick in Jungle Cruise popularity in the past few years. Not sure what that's all about, but cool for the Jungle Cruise.

It's also my understanding that crowds increase during mardi gras and it is, indeed, mardi gras

Yep. Spring break season in the US really starts to kick in this week. These earlier weeks have a few isolated areas around the country where elementary through high school has off, but it is definitely a big time for college spring breaks. About 150,000 college kids in Florida alone have spring break this week, including the 60,000 students at UCF in Orlando (about 45 minutes from Walt Disney World) and 50,000 students at UF in Gainesville (about 2 hours from Walt Disney World).

I got back yesterday and let me tell you, over the weekend crowds were mid August level. MK and AK were PACKED. Stand by lines were 60-75 min for most everything. Small World was 40 min--I have never seen that in years of WDW. FP+ lines were long but moved very quickly.

The majority of spring breakers here in Daytona Beach this week and next are Canadian. I'm sure they also go to WDW. There are some Florida spring breakers here as well, but the Canadians are here now in force, and two weeks from now they will mostly be gone and that's when the huge crowds of US spring breakers hit the town.

It usually goes Race Weekend>Canadian Spring Break/Bike Week>US spring break in terms of progression, not which is larger. Bike week trumps them all in terms of numbers, and that starts this weekend.

The crowd calendars are all saying that it's going to be crazy over the next few weeks. We will be catching the tail end of it on the 30th.

So I tend to agree that it's going to be crazy at MK. That doesn't surprise me. What does surprise me is this fascination with the Jungle Cruise. Is it only because of the guide? They can be funny, but 90 minutes funny? Or is it just the ride that the cool kids are riding these days?
