Here at Hilton head resort now .. Any questions ?

We are here until next Saturday .. Some of the updates I like some not so much.. The rooms are brighter but it seems like 2 different styles mashed together, beach meets fishing cabin?? The floors are a vinyl wood look, they are comfortable on your feet but I do miss shadows paw prints. They painted the bench in the laundry area, now you can't really see the Mickey& Minnie heart . The island has a very tall shelf so the enormous tv fits in it. Not sure why we really need that big of a tv in the living room? I do like the shelves in the kitchen side if the island though. Bedding is nice. I can see why people are not happy about the picnic tables if you have 8 or 9 people where are they going to eat?? I am happy to be here I love this resort but I kinda miss the old fishing lodge theme.

I'm always interested in restaurant reviews, especially of anywhere that sells seafood. Also, I'm a Dunkin Donuts fan, and I'm curious-is the Dunkin Donuts on Rte 278 by Indigo Shopping Ctr still there? I hope so, but whenever we go by, there's hardly anyone there. Since e moved out of Massachusetts, that's the only place I can get my DD.

I just wanted to give a shout out to the CM I just talked to in the HHI Mercantile shop. I didn't write down his name though!!! (Bad DISer!) We have family checking in today for the week and I called to have a gift basket put together for their arrival. He was so helpful and offered great suggestions and ideas!! Wish we were there this week too!

The DD is still there. We are here now too and saw it on the drive in yesterday.

One thing I want to mention, we are on the first floor of building 12 (connected to the lodge), the cork floors aren't working that well. The family above us have at least 2 kids and sound like a herd of elephants running back and forth, back and forth, back and forth, back and well you get the idea. This went on for over an hour last night and woke us up this morning.

To the PP asking about CM discounts, the mercantile gives CM discounts.

Picnic tables that are on the balconies are small round resin ones that seat 4 maybe you could fit more than one small child on one bench? There are 4 movable little benches
The refillable cups have chips in them and are 17.99 for length of stay
I will try to take pictures if someone can tell me how to upload from my I phone : )
Ocean temps is cold 70 degrees but sun is out 75 no humidity absolutely beautiful!

To me, the funniest thing I ever read about those new picnic tables (bad move, Hilton Head!) was that they were probably recommended by the same designer who thought the eject-couches were a good idea, a Designer's Challenge loser!

LOL!! Yes!

Now I will say I like that the new deck table has moveable benches, I really wish they had made the table bigger with more benches! Its silly for a 2 bedroom to have seating only for 4!!

My family loved Scotty's fish market, my DH had the mahi mahi and my dad had scallops. I however had the fried chicken ( very good) I do not eat sea food

Weather is wonderful spent the entire day at the beach yesterday

We had dinner at the Lucky Rooster one night this week. It was very good. The restaurant has only been open since Dec. It has an eclectic menu but the food was very good. If you are a picky eater though this place may not be good for you.
