I'm posting this here because this is where I heard about it.

Did anyone else take advantage of the Disney Visa offer to attend a premiere of the new movie today? My family and I went, it was at 10:00 am. I was surprised at how few people were there--maybe a dozen families. Was every theater like that? We liked the movie, it was funny in a very silly way, perfect for my 7 & 8 year olds.

We went - and were also surprised how small the crowd was. I thought it was great (for what it was) and the kids (5 1/2 and almost 7) certainly seemed to enjoy it!

I thought we had low crowds here in Detroit... We too thought it was cute, but I am glad I did not have to pay for it..

I don't know about other city's, but they did not even ask for ID when we entered... How about where you were??

Myself, DH, and boys (6 & 9) all went today and had a great time! :rotfl:

Pretty low crowd here too in OKC, OK. We were expecting it to be a full house, and it was probably only 1/3 full.

No ID asked for here either.

Mine had a date change to Monday night, so we'll be going then.

We went today too! Myself, DD and friend age 8. We all thought it was pretty cute. I was surprised at how uncrowded it was. I did spend $15 on popcorn, but with a free movie who cares.

Cute movie and I hope we can go to another FREE screening sometime. :teeth:

We went yesterday morning. It was cute. Small crowds. The kids liked the idea of seeing before it was officially released.

Our theater did not ask for ID either, and collected the print-out tickets as an afterthought. The concession stand was not open, which was good for us since I didn't particularly want the kids to have candy at 10:00 am! We probably would have paid to go to this movie, so I am thrilled. My youngest daughter asked me if I would buy her the movie for Christmas--isn't it funny the way children now think of a movie as something that you own rather than as an experience.

I hope Disney VISA does this more!

I feel terrible because we were supposed to go but my kids decided at the last minute to participate in a neighborhood garage sale. I wondered whether or not they would actually check I.D. as I had some friends I could have given the screening invitation to. I wish ours would have been changed to a Monday night...that would have been soooo much better!

We went too. Not much of a crowd in Minneapolis either. We really liked the movie. It was totally silly, but very fun! I was most pleasantly surprised. We have never been asked for ID at either the Disney Visa or old Disney Club previews I've been too.

We went to the Atlanta showing and it seemed pretty crowded. I didn't see any empty seats. They did some trivia before the movie and gave away a few goodie bags and some posters. It was a cute movie. :)

One thing that I'd never seen before at a movie theatre....security scanned us with metal detectors (the security guy said they were looking for folks with recording devices) and also searched purses/bags.

Regarding the ID check question...at the Princess Diaries 2 premier, we were asked for our Disney Visa and then checked off of a list. At this movie, they only took our confirmation. Maybe it's a random thing?

I have a Disney Visa but did not receive any info on a special Herbie premier. :confused3 Where did you get your information for this? Thanks!

Our theater was about 50% full. When we saw the incredibles there was also a small crowd.

Went to the San Francisco screening. Got there about 10 mins late, due to having to take a 45 minute detour because the freeway was closed because of an accident. Ran around trying to find where the screening was (it ended up being on the 3rd floor of the theatre). I swear there was maybe 10 other people in the theatre besides us.

I thought maybe it was due to HS graduation ceremony's but now I am not so sure.

It was a cute movie. My daugher and her friend enjoyed it, as did I.

Same thing happened to us. I thought it strange, but the movie was playing in an area of town that has more crime.

Lisa,
Sorry you were not able to go. The movie was cute! Low crowds! They checked for your printed movie pass but that was it. No ID or Visa was asked for. I will definately try again in the future!

They did collect our e-mail "ticket" but did not ask to see my ID or Disney Visa. (I think they were supposed to; I saw a sheet of paper on a table that said CHECK IDS!! on it. ) We were also scanned as we entered the theatre; I assumed it was to prevent anyone from taping the movie - Herbie:FL doesn't open until the 22nd I think.

I have a Disney Visa but did not receive any info on a special Herbie premier.

I think someone here on the boards usually tries to post when a screening is coming up. You can also log in to your account at Chase or Card Member Services and check under your special offers. I believe it is usually listed under Entertainment.

I couldn't tell you how the movie was since I did not a response. I know it is on a first come first serve basis but they should let you know if youa re going to get the tickets or not. I filled the information the day it was available and never got a response. Anyone else?? I also tried calling Chase and they were completely clueless about the offer.

This time on the Chase website, listed under the info about the screening, it said e-mails would be sent to those who got in on the 13th. It said they would only be sent if you got in, and you would not get a response if you did not. Sorry you missed it, you must have a lot of Disney Visa holders in your area???

I got in too, long before it said FILLED, and, i never recevied an invite for HARTFORD, CT! I even made sure my Spam email came through........ :sad2:
