When riding the rides I'm aware that 7 is ok to ride alone if they meet the requirement but I'm getting mixed answers about whether I can queue up with my son whilst carrying my younger one ? I'm looking to take my will be 8 year old and 23 month old and he wants to do the bigger rides but I obviously can't ride with him but can I queue up with him and leave him when he gets to front if I have my younger son with me too?

it is my understanding that they have a firm rule that anyone that is "too short" can not be in the line. Which would mean you could not wait with your 8 year old in the line (as long as you had your little one).

I however have never been in that situation so I could be wrong...

It's really frustrating they don't make it easy for single adult families as my son will want to ride but will be to scared and I in no way would be comfortable letting him queue up alone ..

I have no idea. When my DD was younger she wanted to do a ride at US that I couldn't do because of a back injury. They let me stay in the line with her until she got on the ride, and then showed me exactly where to wait for her. I hope they could do something like this for you.

If you were doing baby swap, you'd carry your baby through the lines so I can't see that being an issue.

Keep bumping this and hopefully somebody with experience with this will post.

The little one will not be allowed into any queue where they don't meet the height requirement for the ride. In these cases, the 8yo will have to go through alone or not at all. Sorry!

I've always heard that Disney will not let anybody too short into the line. You can blame idiots who try to sneak too short children on to the rides for that. Because a ride is more important than their life, anyways...

The only personal experience I have is being stopped when we got near entrances with my 2 year old letting us know we can't bring him in (we were just bringing him so we could get a rider swap pass). We never tried further than that because we didn't need to. I'm not sure if they make exceptions for situations like yours, but I wouldn't plan on it. Consider it a bonus if they do. It sucks for your son, but if he can't wait alone (can he do a FP line himself maybe?) he might have to miss out on rides your youngest is too short for.

Baby swap at WDW does not require you to carry your baby through the line. You take them to the entrance and get a pass that allows the non riding party back on later.

This is better but IMO I wouldn't feel comfortable letting an 8 y.o. go through any queue alone unless it was something like Dumbo where I could watch them in the queue from outside of the queue. And that's just because I don't think my 8 y.o. wouldn't have wanted to stand in line completely alone.

Yeah neither would I, but at least it's a better option than the stand by line. It's a tough situation, because there's a lot he's going to miss out on unless the little one is fairly tall. Maybe there's something Disney can do, but again, I'd consider it a bonus.

I know and he's been before and was like a inche to small for Everest and mission space and he wants to do them so much
I want to take them before the LO is 2 as I simply won't be able to afford to pay full price for us all and I can't find anyone else to come with us it's so frustrating :(

I've emailed Disney direct they mailed back saying I could go through the queue but nothing about carrying the other so I've mailed them again . Might get lucky a befriend someone on the bus or something who wants to help us out in the park I found when I went away in October with them both alone so many people
we're so helpful and friendly

Well I've never actually done EE, but on MS there is also a long wait after the queue line. Actually 2 waits. So while the usually short SB line for green mission on MS can be less than 5 minutes, he'll actually be waiting alone for about another 10 minutes.

So maybe you're just going to have to find other rides he can do for now. Like Goofy's Barnstormer (you can see the line on that one still right?)

I wouldn't let him wait alone in a queue unless I could see him and he wanted too. He would he to scared to go inside somewhere and queue alone . I'm posting this message in forums hoping someone has been in a similar situation to this

I really hope you get a good response. I know my children would love to help someone in that position and here's hoping your son gets on EE and MS! :goodvibes

This was the first year my daughter was actually regular size. Before that she was gymnast-size and could ride everything, including all the things that little ones could ride. She used to take lots of little guys on rides -- it also meant she didn't have to ride alone either :goodvibes

She was pretty bummed she was too tall for Pteradon Flyers at IoA this year though

Unless you're considering airfare too when you're right that your youngest is only free until 2, you can take your youngest to Disney for free until he's 3 if that helps at all.

I don't know that I would trust what you get told by Disney before you get there. They are notorious for giving out bad information, especially things like this where the in park cast members could decide against what they tell you and you couldn't do anything about it.

I will take them regardless there's still a lot we all can do together :) and I will remain hopeful for friend families who would like to help us on the rides he really wants to do or if some CMs may permit us to go through the queue ..
I'm in the uk so package holidays are all under 2 is free for flights , accommodation etc but over 2 he's full price which is shocking really
Hoping to go New Year's Day so he will turn 2 two weeks after we return lol

Is it possible to use one of the baby sitting serves. I know they have to be potty trained for the kids club but there are in room options maybe after bed time for the little one or nap time you could have a sitter so that you and your 8yr old could go back to the park
