Hmm, I don't want to rain on your parade and understand your frustration...but I just don't think that's going to matter much. I wish you luck.

I bet you could find a sitter who has an AP that would meet you in the park for a few hours and either stay with the little one or ride with the big one.

I'm part of a lot of forums too could always post and see if anyone especially ones I talk to frequently will be hitting the parks the same days , will def try get in the queue myself but if I can't will hopefully have some back up plans

This is a really good idea. My kids are well past the age to need a sitter, but back in the day I thought I remembered reading that some of the sitters (wish I could remember the name if the company for OP) would take the kids to one of the parks if you requested it. Good Luck - these ages will pass quicker than you know!

Not being a mom I have no personal experience with this but in my extensive Disney research I have come across many reports of people hiring services such as Kids Night Out to either stay with the little in the room (I believe they go to offsite locations too) or to come to the parks to either stay with the little or ride with the eldest. I believe you would have to provide them with a park ticket if you want them to come into the parks with you but you could double check with them directly.

You will not be able to take the small one through the lines. You could use your FP+ for the rides with height restrictions. My ds starting waiting for us at the exits when his was 8 and I've never felt uncomfortable about it at wdw.

Expedition Everest has a single rider line that is always so short and I'm pretty sure you can stand off to the side and see the whole line up until he boards. This line is to the far right of the entrance. Can't wait with him but usually there's about 5-10 people in line so I'd imagine he'd be okay for a few if he can see you and you can see him. Test track also has a single rider line which moved quickly, although indoors. Your best bet is definitely going to be EE, maybe let him ride a few times in a row if the other fun rides won't let you wait with him.

My DD went thru the line alone. I would just say to the people they are getting in line in front of or behind that they are alone and most people will automatically take an interest. My DD was and is a chatterbox so she had no problem striking up a conversation with anyone so waiting in line with people was no problem . As long as they can follow instructions and are independent I wouldn't anticipate a problem.

I think I will ask him on the day and see what he feels comfortable doing he will be 8 at time of travel if he doesn't want to queue then he will know he can't do it and hopefully the thought if not having to queue up will be enough to console him from not riding

Had some great news and spoke to my friend who lives out there and he said he could come to Disney and universal with us some of the days to help out that's reassuring
