Help with timing to get annual pass

We are scheduled to close on our first DVC contract on 9/19. We are doing F&W Fest the weekend of 10/10 and know that we will want an annual pass with our DVC discount over the next year. We were planning to pay for one day park tickets for F&W but am wondering if we might be able to go on and get the annual passes and use for that weekend? Do you think the timing would work since we close less than a month before we'd need the tickets? Or should we plan to pay cash for this trip and buy the passes starting with our next trip? Thanks for your help!!

You can get the DVC discount on annual passes in person at the ticket booth. When were you planning to buy your one-day ticket?

There are no discounts available on 1 & 2 day MYW tickets. Authorized re-sellers like UT actually sell them for a little more than from Disney direct.

There is no need to purchase them in advance, unless you want to make FP+ selections for that one day. If you do purchase them prior to arrival and you get your DVC member number prior to using them, you can apply the value of the 1 day ticket towards the purchase of a annual pass.

Great to know! We were planning to buy from Disney in advance to book FP+. So if we have our number in time we will just upgrade to the annual pass if we have our DVC number by then! Thanks so much
