Help with Times Square accomodations

I know that this forum is mainly for everything Disney/Florida. On our way back this year we wanted to stay in Times Square for New Years Eve. We need help finding reasonably priced (I know it NYC) accommodations for four people. The closer to Times Square the better. Anything would be great. Thanks

It is literally just off of Time Square.

Price includes a nice continental breakfast and coffee, tea, etc. all day. There is wine & cheese in the evening (not certain about weekends)

We had a nice stay at Hotel Beacon several years ago (2002?). It's not in Times Square, but further up Broadway (75th Street). It's a very short subway ride to Time Square.

Hampton Inn is nice spot. It was a short walk everything! It was 8th and 52nd street.

Thanks to all of you for your help but this like it is the impossible because everything is either booked or way out of our price range.

We have never had a vacation in 22 years so Florida it is, however we thought since we were coming back at that time maybe we could add it to our plans. Right now it does not look like it will be possible. It is just to expensive. The kids were looking forward to it but also agree it is too expensive on that night. I have a few leads out but I am also afraid to be scammed.

I stayed at the Marriott Times Square. My window looked right out at Good Morning America. Some views are perfect - although I imagine they want a fair penny and are most likely booked. I like the Marriott as you can get Government rates. But even in mid January I paid $198US per night. Heck, Great Wolf Lodge in Niagara is $600/night on New Years - what is NYC?

The hotel that the bus trips go to is the Edison, but it's not the best. My parent's stayed at a suite hotel near times square it was a chain I don't remember the name but it was reasonable.
