Hi I am new to this board! We have not been to Disney in 10 years, boy alot has changed! My husband and I, and our son age 16, daughter age 9, will be traveling to Orlando April 15-22nd. I realize that it will be crowded this time of year, but I work in a high school so I need to take my vacation at this time. My husband cannot get time off in the summer, so that is not an option for us.We are flying from upstate NY, but still need to get airline tickets. We are looking for good deals, preferably non-stop. We have reservations at Vistanna Village for 7 nights.I hope this is a nice place, the pictures we have seen look beautiful! I am a bit confused about the tickets for Disney World. We also want to go to Universal, so I was thinking 4 day Disney tickets. We are not sure if we should get the hopper add-on or not. I am thinking that since our daughter has never even been to Disney, maybe we will want to spend an entire day at each park, in which case the hopper option would not be needed. We also are not too interested in the typhoon lagoon or other water parks as my kids have been to so many water parks, they say they would rather spend the time we have in the other Disney parks. I do not think that my husband and I will go to Pleasure Island, because I will not leave my kids alone in the resort room. I also will not get the no expiration add on.My daughter would like to have breakfast or dinner with the Disney charectors, when and where do we buy these tickets? We are also AAA members, and I am a member of the NY state Teachers Union. I think AAA has a discount on park tickets; would this be the best place to purchase tickets ahead of time? Are there any other good places we should see , or resturants that we should not miss? I was thinking of eating a quick breakfast in our room, (we have a full kitchen at Vistanna,) lunch at the park, and dinner someplace nice where we can sit down at night, and order a drink! We do not mind eating dinner outside of Disney, since we are not staying at a Disney property. What about meal vouchers for Disney, can they only be purchased if you are staying onsight? Any suggestions for our trip will be appreciated, thanks in advance!
