help with router

Have you tried the cable from your PC on the xbox yet? If it is too far away just move the xbox and turn it on and plug in the cable just to see if you get a light on the router.

It will work with Xbox Live. It's actually made by a company called FMI model number is EE400-r. Once you actually get a link light on the router you will have to open some ports to allow Live to work (very easy and very common) Her is how it is done on your router

Ok I called compusa and they said it is compatible


And I just plugged the wire from the pc to the xbox and I have NO light on the router

Have you tried switching it to the port on the router that the pc is plugged into. I have found bad ports on routers. Probably a dumb question but the xbox is turned on?

Did you get all your wires hooked up then unplug everything, then reboot before you tried it? That was what I was doing wrong when we moved. I wasn't going by step by step instructions at that time and I missed that step.

I didn't have to open ports on my router either. Mine was already set to go. I did have to open them for another program I use on the computer, but not to play Live. Of course, I didn't buy the same router either.

Ok --I tried it again, this time I turned on the xbox--and the light is on

I did move the PC wire to another port and that works too

The plug for the port in the router goes in clip side down, and the plug at the xbox goes in clip side up.

The wire colors for the xbox wire are in the same order. Should the colors be reversed since the clip goes in differently?

No dont get too excited yet. I still have to go see if it works, but DD is now using the playstation, so I have to wait.

I cant remember his user name, but he has halo2 and call of duty 2.

I will ask my DS for his name, he needs friends.

He's Killer Chief, but we don't have the 360 yet. For me, it wasn't worth the pain of all that it entailed to get one for Christmas when there aren't many games out for it yet. Once the stores get stocked, we'll pick one up though.

It's kind of unwritten law to have it, isn't it? Go to a gaming forum and say you don't once.

I didn't buy COD2 because it was one I wanted to pick up when we get the 360. I hear it's MUCH better on there.

I was talking to my cousin who manages an FYE on Long Island and he said he had one he was going to put on Ebay. I said no you're not. I was not about to camp out to get one.
