Okay, I though I knew what I was doing and had it all figured out, but now I realize that I was just kidding myself, so hopefully someone can help.
We are going in June - 2 adults and 4 kids. According to the DP, we have 4 adults, 1 child and the youngest doesn't count because he's just 2. I did the math and decided for us the best deal would be to get the QS dining plan and then just pay OOP for 2 TS meals and the 2 year old's meals.
Well, then we found out that our 5 year-old will have to be leaving the vacation halfway through. Since her tickets were free for the days she'll be missing, I just plan on keeping her on the reservation and not making any changes. But that leaves us with 8 child credits and 8 adult credits left over at the end of the trip. Now, I originally thought - well, that will work great, I can just use those to pay for the 2-year-old's meals and then we'll end up using all of the credits. Is this allowed? I don't want to break the rules, so if I can't do it, I think it might be cheaper just to do OOP the entire time than to pay for that many meals we're not going to eat. I understand that you can only order as many meals at a time as there are people on your plan, so we could only order 4 adult/1 child - but will they care if we give the child meal to the 2 year old after the 5 year old has left? If you do separate transactions at one meal time, can we order 5 adult meals altogether and give one of them to the 2 year old?
Sorry if this is confusing. As I said before, I'm not trying to get one over on Disney, I just want to know if the plan is still worth it for us.
