Hi - sorry but I am determined to get my itinerary sorted before I book any ADR's!!!:) :) :)

Am struggling with my MGM Day - We will only probably spend 1/2 a day there as it is DH and my least favourite park, but we want to take DS4 for his first time - My question however is - should we get there for opening to avoid all the queues (we will be visiting on a non emh day!) or should we go for the afternoon and plan to do Fantasmic as well???(I'm not sure whether it will scare DS4 or DS9mths - in which case I could end up leaving half way through!!)

thanks for any comments!!:thumbsup2

I would go in for opening to avoid lines come out early to mid afternoon for a swim/shopping/sleep and a meal then go back in for Fantasmic but we do this most days now we have AP's, theme park until it gets too hot or too crowded then out for a few hours then back in to a park for the evening.

why not try for a meal at one of the hotels nearby boardwalk/yaght and beach.Have found the fantasmic packages too early or late

I would agree with Paul and Wayne, an early start with a break would probably be the best way to tackle it.

If you dont want to use up the full day at MGM and have plans for the rest of that day, I would go in the morning as the queues would probably be shorter then :thumbsup2

Hi there,
as an ex cast member at Fantasmic, i wouldn't recommend it for your DS 9 months. It has very loud music with sudden bangs and explosions.
If you do decide to take him then make sure you have a specific meeting point. I overheard alot of peopel say i'l wait outside, or alot of people come up to me saying they cant find their husband. I recommend infront of Crossroads at the bottom of hollywood blvd near the exit.

Hi I agree with most posts lol
Go in on opening and do rides then head out for a break either swim or chill out and I would do a Fantasmic dinne package.
Your refreshed and re fuelled ready for Fantasmic then.
It is loud and the wait for the show to start is long, if you want a great seat but well worth it. Every child is different about the 'scare' factor - I know My DD would be fine, but my sisters DD would be very frightened.
good luck.X

We had a lovely meal before we watched Fantasmic we made ressies at 50's Prime-time for 5.15pm and we didn't know what to expect. It was a fantastic dining experience, delicious food, wonderful servers and they loved the kids in there the kids portions were very generous for the price.you wait in the lounge until they call for 'the smith kids dinner's ready' and take you to your table. Great atmosphere and we were there for a good hour after we were seated so not rushed out of our seats.
We had a leisurely stroll over to the Fantasmic theatre and found a row of seats and watched the people amuse themselves before the warm up began. A few word of warning ..it's a good walk back to the restrooms for little ones try to get them to go before you take your seats:thumbsup2 There was some light refreshments available at the back of the theatre if you really need a drink or something to nibble on while you wait.
The show is amazing and as long as the kids know there's nothing to worry about they should be fine with the effects but might be sleepy when you exit the show.Enjoy;)

thanks everyone for there advice :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 - Although Wifey you've confused me again!! - You'd just convinced me to go to Sci-Fi , but now what you've said about Prime Time has tipped me back that way again lol!!!:lmao: :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

If your children do get scared then let them know that mickey is protecting you and will save the day and celebrate with all the characters at the end!
