I would like to plan a trip to HHI to meet my family who are in Boston, and I am wondering what a good time of year to go is? By "good" I mean being able to swim, my dad being able to golf (so not too hot/humid) but also the lowest possible points? :sunny:

Since the pools are heated, you could enjoy swimming and golf from March thru May and October/November. Summer months will be pretty crowded and also require the highest number of points.

The ocean is warm enough to enjoy swimming from late May - early October.

Golf is available year-round.

It's a great resort with lots of activities, dining and shopping available at the resort and nearby.

Enjoy!

When do the summer activities (like the fireworks) start and end?

Thanks!

The weekly fireworks run (I think) from Memorial Day thru Labor Day. In the past they have been on Tuesday nights. They are sponsored by the Shelter Cove merchants and are set off from a barge anchored in the marsh right behind the resort. Guests at the resort have a great view.

There is a small stage at Shelter Cove where Shannon Tanner performs (free) during the evenings. He has a wonderful family program and the kids are all part of his show. He has been performing there for a number of years.

Most resort activities are available year round, but some are certainly more comfortable in warmer weather.

Enjoy!

We returned from HHI last week & the guys went swimming in the pools & folks were out golfing. It was mild--night in the 50's, daytime in the upper 60's. No humidity, mild puffs of breezes, no bugs--very, very enjoyable.

If you have the chance get into Savannah, a gracious, lovely city with so many things to do~
