I've read every thread about special cakes and desserts and now am trying to decide what I'd like to order for our trip!!!
We are having dinner at the Grand Floridian Cafe on 12/4 and then I am surprising my family with our room at the Poly (surprise split stay--I'll have already checked in earlier in the morning) and that night my mom is watching our youngest while I surprise DH and DD-4 with a Wishes Cruise...Needless to say it's going to be a night of special treats and surprises
I want to start the fun at dinner with some of the great desserts I've seen but I can't decide. Here's what I've seen availaible from the GF Bakery...
--The Slipper Dessert
--The white chocolate Mickey--alone or on a gorgeous cake
--Chocolate Dog Bones (are these eclairs?)
--Mini Wedding Cake (do they only do the castle in White Chocolate?)
--Regular Cakes with choice of filling, frosting & decorations (what are our choices?)
I was thinking of getting a cake (the smaller size) with a slipper and the dog bones. I don't think we need to do the mini wedding cake (even though it's our anniversary trip) because my family doesn't care for white chocolate and are already getting a dose of it with the slipper!
Are there any other desserts or cakes they do that I haven't mentioned? Does anyone know the choices of cake fillings and frostings? I'd like to have a really clear idea of what I want before I order.
I also read a thread that people were able to get Princess things on a cake (either a topper or handpainted on the side of the cake--at $15 for each character)...Does anyone have a picture of anything like this?
And last question! Since I'm going overboard in the dessert department...will they be able to box the leftovers for us to bring back over to the Poly?
Oops, another question--I am placing the order on 11/29 for our 12/4 dinner. Should I call after we arrive to confirm it with anyone? And do I just tell them at the podium when we check in for our ADR that the desserts were ordered ahead of time?
Thanks for all your help!
