Please help me make sense of the DLR dining plan. I have been online too long today pricing up options for a halloween trip and my brain is fried!! (only started looking at DLR an hour or so ago, prior to that thinking Chicago!!!!)

When it states two meals per person per day is this like WDW where you get a CS & a TS?
I have a 9 year old who is a very good, adventurous eater- if I put her down as 10 will that entitle her to adult meals rather than kids meals?
Is there a list of participating restaurants?

Thanks, Marie

ok hi i use to be all for dinning plans but after just going an useing the gift cards so much i have to say i think i like it better now.

I found out we can split so many meals next time we know 20bucks will feed all 3 of us each meal if we dont need char dinning

When we used the dinning plan it was simple enough to pull a 15 ticket from my book an pay for two meals at a time. the 5-6 tickets were good for a snack. the 10 meal tickets were good for almost two meals and could be combined with the snack vouchers (5 or 6bucks) and pay for another meals.

Its not as easy as wdw from what ive heard but i'm gona just add money to dgc when i can and save up enough to pay for food with it.

Ive never used the DL dining plan but from what I have read on these boards there is no use in getting any dining plan at DL. I guess its good at WDW but the DL one gives you no benefits at all. You vet vouchers that are good for whatever money amount it says, you pay normal prices (no discounts or anything) and if you buy something for 17 dollars and give them a 20 dollar voucher you lose 3 dollars because they dont give change. Its best to either use gift cards, cash, or credit card to pay for meals as you go. We saved up cash and put it in our savings so we knew how much we could spend and then used our Disney credit card to pay for everything on our trip. Just got back yesterday so I will pay off our trip with the money in savings when my next bill comes. Worked out great for us.

The DLR dining plan is NOTHING like the WDW plan. (which can be good to great depending on how you use it & what time of year it is).

The DLR plan is merely pre-paying for vouchers. That's it. (& you can lose money on it). 19 out of 20 disers do NOT recommend the DLR dining plan.

8 out of 10 DLR lovers (who are also WDW vets) would love to have a modified WDW dining plan to enjoy while on a 3-5 day disney vist to DLR. But we don't have one as it exists now. :(

:cool2:

Thanks for that, confirmed what I thought.
Still not decided where to go, thinking should leave West Coast for a longer trip but was getting decent flight prices.

Do it. Halloween is a great time to visit & DLR is a fantastic 3-4 day destination. If you haven't read Hydroguy's tip threads, do so (& start with his DLR for the WDW vet thread).

All disney fans should spend 3-4 days at Walt's park (& DCA) at least once. :thumbsup2 (It's now my home park :hippie:)

:)
