My daughter is taking an SAT class. I notices in the book(s) that is says Copyright 2019 and 2019 by Reetiforp, LLC. When turning the page, it has a letter to students and parents, as follows: "***** Education's Redesigned SAT workbooks focus on curriculum that will help students build key foundation skills and learn problem-solving methods to tackle the new SAT that was released in 2016." Is this book old/outdated?

No, the book is not outdated as the last redesign of the SAT was in 2016. However, there are big changes coming this year and if your daughter is planning to take the SAT beginning in January 2024, it will be a digital exam, and the format of the exam is changing. Depending on when she’s planning on taking it, hopefully her course is preparing her for either the current written format, or the new digital format.

Standardized test like ACT/SAT measure a good bit of general knowledge you acquire all during high school. While is it good to have a grasp of the test format, types of questions, time management, etc. no amount of study guides or test taking tips/tricks are going to turn a mediocre student into someone who gets outstanding scores on those tests. Students need to be honest with themselves and their skill level. If they aren't at/near the top of their class in Math (or English) I seriously doubt they will get amazing ACT/SAT scores no matter how they choose to 'prepare'.

Doesn't sound outdated to me. But the SAT and ACT tests themselves may be dated. More and more Universities don't require them.

Large state universities where I live still require them. Tuition is free due to the Hope scholarship, so our top schools are very competitive to get into.

I would supplement your daughters SAT book with one that is more recent. Helps to have all the bases covered when studying for the SAT.

My kids were merit chasers, so no TO for them. We got them tutors, which really helped with strategies.
