I am planning a surprise birthday trip for my daughter who is seven now... will be eight. I am looking at the castle, chef mickey, norway princess, 1900 park fare, ect. She loves Aurora and the castle and I know Aurora is in Norway but the castle is in Magic Kingdom which she loves. Has anyone had a birthday meal at these and if so what did you like about them? Is lunch, dinner or breakfast a better way to go at the castle? I have done all of these for a regular meal except the castle lunch or dinner. The breakfast at both the castle and Norway seemed to me to be rushed and not that great several years ago. Is dinner the same? Thanks a bunch!

I have eaten at both of them and my daughter actually enjoyed the Norway dinner more. There was not only Aurora but Belle, Ariel (in her blue dress), we got to see Cinderella that night for dinner too and Snow White, character interaction was INCREDIBLE! I'm sure they would go all out for a b-day there, especially if you call ahead and make them aware of it!

Wherever you go, make sure the server knows about your DD's bday. When we did the "birthday tour" a few years ago DD got a troll cookie at the Norway bfast and a wonderful chocolate mini cake at CRT (the size of a cupcake but I wouldn't classify it as such) that was absolutely dreamy. For our princess meals I brought little gifts and slipped them to the characters to give her. At 1900 PF our server made sure that one of the characters came over to sing HB when we cut the cake (that we brought in ourselves).

Depending on your budget and time constraints, you might want to check out the Perfectly Princess Tea (http://www.allearsnet.com/din/girlstea.htm ~ http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/princessess.htm#DisneyGirl). DD is an Aurora fan too, and she loved it! Because it is limited to a smaller number of girls, the character interaction is better than at the character meals we've done (which were all very good), and the charm bracelet and Princess Aurora doll are still among her favorite things. The doll is really nice too, American Girl size and quality, in a Princess Aurora costume and crown.

Thanks so much for the ideas. I am going to look at Norway and 1900 and I love the idea of slipping gifts to the characters and the tea party. This should be fun.

Sleeping Beauty was at both CRT and the norway dinner....so it varies.

We liked Norway better...but obviously the castle is "an experience"
