Help with Baby Name for a boy

We named our son Russell, which you don't hear much anymore. Another fav of mine is Owen.

I like Russell and I love the nickname Russ.

OP, some I like that kinda sorta fit your category:

Finn (my son :))
Brady
Evan
Jack
Milo
Quinn
Nathan

OK, I have to weight in on this one. I love the name Elliott, however as this is disboards, I would go with Sidney!

I'm torn now between 3 names for our new german shepherd puppy. He doesn't come for for 4 more weeks so we have some time to decide.... but what I've come up with so far are : Santo, Tarik, and Zedric . We currently have a yorkie named Teagan so I thouth Teagan and Tarik sound good together. Also my last shepherd was Zane, the Zedric could be in honor of him...... I don't know, its had to pick this early without knowing personality. But my Dh wants to settle on a name soon.

I like Luke, but I agree with the others. Why not Wyatt for the first name?

Isn't that the truth? My oldest son is named John. We were warned by everyone we knew NOT to name him "such a common name." Well. I don't think he ever had a single other John in his classroom. We have more trouble with the fact that we also have an UNCLE John.

I was also going to suggest William, Henry, Thomas, George and Christian. All good solid names that you won't hear in every play-group. !:lovestruc

LOL - we have a John, but have called him Jack since birth. We should've stuck with John, because although there are a bunch of Jacks, we don't know any Johns! :rotfl2: My sister has a Henry Thomas, and there's a lot of Henrys out there, now. I know two Christians.

I had two boys. I used the names Jack and Benjamin. I like both those names.

My name is Jen and DH is Jake, so I really wanted Ben to have a "J" name too...but me and DH couldn't agree on one.

I had my heart set on Jude. I love that name, I still feel sad sometimes about it because I think Ben looks like a Jude, but I couldn't get DH to budge.

My DS's name is Brendan and we love it. He IS named after my Dad but I have always liked it and, fyi, my DS says he LOVES his name too. He said that he likes it because it is an easy name to say but there aren't a million of them:goodvibes

Names can be so regional too. We have some friends that named their son Brendan thinking it was somewhat unique but not out there either. There are 4 Brendan's in his grade at school :lmao:.

A boy named Jude is just begging to get beat up in school, sorry. It is a cute name for a girl though.

i always said if i had a son, his name would be connor evan. DH didn't like evan, so i compromised and said we'd name him connor douglas (DH's dad is douglas). but it wasn't meant to be.

OP here. Sorry, DS#3 got sick last night and that ended up sucking up all my time. I’ll try and answer as many questions as possible here.

I have certain Internet safety rules. Hey, if I’m going to make my kids follow them, I’d better too! So, no public posting of personal information. I will say some of the suggestions made were some of my other boys’ names/middle names. And our dog’s name has been mentioned (2-3 times). Ha ha

I do have to say, my kids to have a few Aidens/Jaydens, but they also have *several* Michaels, Nicholas, Williams, Christophers, and (especially) Matthews in their classes/grades too. It’s a southern thing, I guess. Old, traditional names tend to rule. It’s pretty much 45% trendy and 45% traditional with 10% other. I’m going for the other!

I did consider Wyatt as a first name, but I keep hearing it popping up more and more. It’s becoming trendy around here. Besides, DH isn’t crazy about it and I don’t think he’d ever go for it as a first name. I don’t get him sometimes.

There have been some great suggestions though. Keep 'em coming. This could take me a while yet to find something I like and DH will consent to (He's the Robert/David type). Eventually we always hit on something. The really funny thing is, for once we were able to decide on a girl's name, but it was another boy.

Here are a few I haven't seen mentioned but are traditional and underused these days.

Adam
Joel
Justin
Christian
Trevor
Sam

My son is almost 30 and I still love his name. Bryceton.

If he ever has a son and he asked for my opinion, I would suggest Misael. I love that name.

If I ever had a son, he would be either...

Aidan Robert
Gavin Sean
or
Ian Ryan

I also really like the name Xavier Zane, but I would never do that to a poor boy. :rotfl:

For a girl? It's a boy's name. Jude Law?

I seriously doubt someone is going to beat up a kid just because his name is Jude.

I taught a Jude last year and we adored him AND his name. So cute!!
