Help with AP

Hi I have a quick question. When you purchase an AP is it a year from your date you do it? or is it the calendar year from January to December? We are thinking of upgrading at the beginning of August when we go but wasn't sure if it was worth it.

It is one year from the date you first use it...plus one day...so, if you first use it on May 23rd, 2017 (as I will do in a little over a week), you can use it all the way to, and through, May 23rd, 2018.

I had always thought it would have expired on May 22nd (one year from first use), but it is good on both May 23rds (2017 and 2018).
