She is basically a chicken. Will not ride anything that goes upside down or really fast. Last trip to disney she was 9 and would not ride thunder mountain or splash mountain. Plus I have a bad back and have to watch for those warnings.

Is there much either one of us can do at either park? Or would we be wasting our day and money.

Yeah, Dr. Doom, Dueling Dragons, Hulk, Jurassic Park, Ripsaw Falls, Flying Unicorn, Woodywood Pecker Nuthouse Coaster are all things she wouldn't go on.

If she is chicken to go on rides the are bumpy, Back To The Future Earthquake & Spider-Man wouldn't be rides for her.

If she can't handle spinning, Storm Force Accelatron, Spider-Man, Cat in The Hat, Men In Black would not be for her.

If she doesn't want to get wet, Jurassic Park, Ripsaw Falls, Bilage-Rat Barges, Twister & Jaws wouldn't be rides for her.

The rest she can handle.

Goto USF and do the movie rides.
ET will be fun. MIB has spinning, but not bumpy.
For T2, sit in the rows that don't bounce in the final scene.
Do not ride BTTF.
The 11 year old will like the play ground areas. Bring a change of cloths because she'll get wet.
She'll like the Nick show. You walk thru the set. Then the groups are divided into two. Kids and 2 adults are picked, and they have a quiz about Nick shows.

My son is a huge ride chicken and he loves Universal and IOA! Sent you a pm.

take care,
Renee

She might do the kiddie roller coaster. I beleive the bumpy rides might be ok as long as they don't go really fast or upside down.
Not sure about the spinning rides she likes the tea cups at DW. If that helps any.

How many of these rides has back restrictions on them?
Not sure what all is left. Afraid we would be wasting our time till she gets braver.

Unless she surprises me this trip.

I also have an 11 year old who is not a rider. We went to IOA over Thanksgiving and the only things he rode were a spinning ride (ioa's version of Disney's teacups), Spiderman (which really scared him), Red Fish Blue Fish (Disney's Dumbo), the carousel, and The Cat in the Hat (Disney's Winnie the Pooh). There is a dinosaur playground that he really loved. We probably spent an hour letting all the kids and some of the adults play.

The rest of the family are ride enthusiasts! We will ride anything, anytime, anyplace and we had one of the best days of our lives! We stayed on site and had keys that let us go straight to the front of the line. So we were able to ride everything multiple times! It was fantastic!

We had eight people in our party, and only four room keys, so my 11 year old never felt pressure to ride anything he didn't want to. He would just stay with whatever group was waiting.

Hope this helps.

Bounce a wrong term to use, it's a small drop a few inches but it gets you off guard and scares some folks. It's just after the big Explosion.

Twister has that same drop when the flame shoots up from the manhole.

Rides like BTTF, the coasters, Doctor Doom, etc, will have said restrictions. It's up to you to go on these, as the rides may or may not affect your condition.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe The Cat in the Hat also has restrictions, I'm guessing due to the spinning. I think I remember seeing even pregnant women shouldnt ride it. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong......

I'm not sure if pregnant women ought to ride on a spinning ride like Cat in the Hat. You might injure or damage your unborn. You can ask for the spinning to be turned off if you're pregnant or whatnot. :)

My son doesn't like really loud noises, but likes roller coasters and such. When we went to Universal Studios Hollywood last year, it was a little intense for him, but he loved the atmosphere, the characters, and the water play areas-(Why doesn't Disney World have any of those water play areas-kids love them!!!) We are going to USO and IOA next December when he will be 10, but he's much braver now.
