Help with a pace saver passport scooter!!

Does anyone have a Pace Saver Passport scooter? My dad has one on loan. How do I lower the tiller to put it in the car? There's a lever I can pull but nothing happens. I am afraid to be more forceful, but maybe I should be. Any help would be greatly appreciated since I'd like to put it in the car tomorrow.

I have a Pace Saver Espree and it should be the same. The lever half way down the tiller post should move easily. I would give it a little bit more pressure but if it doesn't work for you, call the company you loaned it from. Perhaps you might also try putting a little pressure on the tiller post in either direction...it might be jambed a little. I hope this helps. I do like my scooter.

Thanks, the lever pulls out and spins around, but nothing happens. Does the pin come out? I can't seem to make that happen.
