hey guys, im plaining on asking my gf to marry me in disney world in december. i was hope u guys had some ideas to help me plain it out, i was thinking about doing it at the magic kingdom during the holiday wishes in front of the castle, im open to all ideas to make it easyer to plain i dont know if i need to call disney see if they can help set something up to make it magical. thanks

I saw pictures of where this was done while getting pictures done by the photo pass guy. That way you would have pictures of the process. I would think calling Disney is a good idea as they seem very helpful with this kind of request. I assume it will be a Disney wedding?

Apparently Disney doesn't help at all anymore, unless you go to a location and ask them specifically. :(

From someone who got engaged during wishes...:cloud9:

My DF didn't get a photo CM to come take pictures. Consequently, we have no pictures of our actual engagement. I'm okay with that because I will always remember that magical moment. Sometimes I wish we had pictures, but it was still special without.

We got engaged almost three and a half years ago, and I reflect fine without pics....to the point I usually break out into big crocodile tears if I hear the wishes music or watch a movie on youtube.

Congrats! Mt Df proposed during Wishes as well, but instead of at the Magic Kingdom, we went out to dinner at Narcoosees and when everyone goes out on the deck to watch the fireworks, he asked me there, over on the boat dock! It was very magical! ANd people did take pics for us and everyone clapped.:love:

Maybe you could rent a Wished cruise? Or do it at the Poly or Grand Floridian during Wishes? That way at least you will not have crowds of people stepping on you and ruining the moment. :)

I think California Grill also has a nic view of Wishes. Otherwise, maybe try to pick out a good spot near the castle super early and let a castmember in the area know what you are up to, maybe they can help out. Even if "Disney" no longer helps with proposals, castmembers do a great job of making Disney more magical, I am sure they would love to help!

My friend had one of the streetmosphere people at Hollywood Studios help him ask his soon to be wife. When he saw them come out, he ran over to one of the girls and had her come over to them and ask if they were married. She of course said no we are not and he then said well not yet and took out the ring.

Congrats and I wish you the best of luck. I worked at the castle as a CP last spring and we had some people call and arrange with us to get engaged in the castle. I saw a couple inside the castle and also in the breezeway. They also do engagements upstairs in Cinderella's Royal Table but it can add up $$$. All of them were equally romantic and beautiful.

Hope that helpedprincess:

My DD got engaged in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle (at DLR) last December. Her now DH, talked to a CM before the fireworks show and they were kind enough to find us (both families were there :)) a spot to watch the show right by the castle. When the fireworks ended, a CM let my DD's DH take her under the roped off area in front of the castle for the proposal. It was an incredible moment for everyone! A CM even presented them with a gift of a Jim Shore Cinderella coach. When my DSiL proposed, he had a glass slipper engraved with lyrics from one of my DD's favorite songs. :lovestruc

It doesn't hurt to talk to a CM when you're there and see what they can make happen! :wizard:

My DF proposed to me during in December during the afternoon, in front of the castle at WDW. He got a hold of the disney photographer and whispered to him, what he was about to do. We were with family and he informed me prior to our trip, he wanted to have a disney photographer take a 'family picture' in front of the castle, so when the photographer came, this was not unusual for me. After the DP snapped pictures, I started walking away, and DF held my hand, turned me around and was on 1 knee. I thought he fell, as we had his dad who was 78, in a wheelchair at the time. I said to him, "OMG, you fell, now who is going to push you in a wheelchair?" It was at this time, he took out the cherry ring box he had and on 1 knee proposed to me. DP kept snapping away, people started to gather around, and I started crying. I said Yes of course and everyone started clapping. I think anything you do inside Magic Kingdom, will be wonderful and special, she will NEVER forget it. Make sure you get a Disney Photographer, we had turned our photopass into our resort and requested them to put all the photos during our stay on a CD, they did this in minutes, of course at that time the price was $100.00, however the moment was priceless.
