So DFi and I finally sat down yesterday and started discussing all things wedding!! We are really struggling to pick which month to get married in though and have narrowed it down to either April or November.

DFi is concerned about hurricanes in November but I think it could be rainier in April.

Can anyone give advice on which month would be better in terms of weather, prices etc?

Thanks so much!!! :)

I've been to WDW both in April and November. The time I went in November it was still pretty hot, and the time I went in April was very chilly (I'm not sure what avg temps are though, it was in the 60's the entire week I was there). The Flower & Garden festival in Epcot is in April (I believe), though I am not sure if the Food & Wine festival is still going on in November. Both of my trips did not have much rain - one day for each trip maybe.

One thing to consider - my consultant told me that October and November are the busiest months for weddings at WDW. I don't know if that will be a factor in your decision.

Maybe think about your colors too? Do you have your colors picked out? For me, that would be a factor in what time of year I picked. I wanted pale colors so I picked spring :)

Good luck! :thumbsup2

I think that both months are excellent choices. I was down at Disney last November and the weather was in the 70's, it didn't rain for almost the whole week I was there, and it was just warm enough to enjoy the pools. It was also very empty!

April (on average) is one of the least rainy months in Orlando. When I was there the 7th-14th, it didn't rain (except a little sprinkle at 7am). It was warm enough to go to the water parks, but not so hot that my husband was sweating in his wedding suit. It is busier in the parks in April than November, but it wasn't too busy, and we still got some pretty sweet deals on the hotel rates.

We just had our wedding in April, and were happy with our choice. The weather is really nice in the day time, not too hot, not too cold. The wind at night was a bit chilly, and the parks were busier than I expected.

I would look at what the "season" it is in terms of resort rates. In April you might be near Easter which would mean higher hotel rates. We picked May and are in regular season. I think September might be value season so that would help your guests.

I was born and raised in Florida and just recently moved to Indiana...I would definitely do November because the weather is perfect and the parks are relatively empty before Thanksgiving and after Halloween, Hurricane Season ends at the end of November we usually do not have much activity that month so I wouldn't even worry about it...April is packed with kids on Spring Break and that's when the Florida heat starts kicking in...November was our first pick but due to certain life events (i.e. moving to a new city) we had to push it to Jan. (our second choice)

April is a beautifu time of year in FL, I would pick it over November. November in FL tends to be a bit rainy, not as rainy as Oct but still have sporadic rain and it's anytime of day, not like in the summer when it's usually in the mid-afternoon.

We're from England so don't know that much about Spring Break but I thought this was normally around March time? Have been to Florida mostly in March and there are always loads of students on break then so does it cover most of March and April?

Some schools let out early at the end of March but usually it's in April and the month is just crazy to be in the parks...

I would do the beginning of May even though the heat is kicking by now...we went last year for a week and not had a drop of rain and the lines weren't bad at all, 30mins at most...

If you go in November the Christmas decorations will be up! Fantastic if you have not seen them before. I would avoid thanksgiving time as I have heard the parks are very busy.

April looks very pretty with the flower and garden festival, again like others have said I would be concerned over the hotel prices and how it busy it is, I still think both are great months to pick though!

I know you can have rain at anytime, but I have picked very early May for my VR and was wondering if the rain in May is more likely mid-afternoon (a 2.30pm ceremony). Would I be wiser having a different ceremony time in early May?

I know this wasn't directed to me but thought I would include my 2 cents...

I've gone to Disney many times in May and never been rained on (could be dumb luck). Has a prior Florida resident, May was my favorite is one of my favorite months to travel to Disney. June is usually when raining season starts for Florida so I wouldn't worry about having an early afternoon wedding and if it did rain, the rain usually comes late afternoon...

When I was at the beginning of considering a Disney wedding, I took a while to decide what time of year aswell. Being from the UK aswell, I wanted to avoid our main school holidays so flight prices wouldn't shoot up, I wanted nice weather, and low-medium crowds. In the end I picked late april-early may for the trip, Easter will be done with and UK schools are all back (easter is early april in 2012 6th is good friday & 9th easter monday) hopefully US schools won't be on holiday and from research I've tried to do they aint. Plus from reading up i've done this time of years sounds perfect for weather & not stuck with huge crowds.

Out of November and April, i'd deffiently go with April as long as you avoid the easter week :)

May would be a lovely time of year. It almost never rains in early May. The end of the month is a different story but early May is a gorgeous time of year... just starting to get 85+ degree days... it's perfect.

May is a great time of year to go to WDW, I wish I could go then but being ateacher really only gives me xmas time, spring break and summer. Oh well :confused3

NOVEMBER!!! But im partial to that month:) We chose November for the Weather, crowds, tail end of Food and Wine Fest, a year since anyone would have been there for a trip. Mostly the weather. And the crowds. Plus the Christmas decorations are up the 2 week or so in Nov. Theres my 2 cents.

im not sure if you said which year you are looking at? as a PP mentioned easter is the first week in april in 2012, however next year its the last week of april, going into may...and i highly suggest, as others have, avoiding that time.

if you could push it to the first full week of may i hear its a great time. I have been in november 3 times when i was younger, and crowds were low, but it also would be cool in the early mornings/evening. the day time temps were not bad though. and i know hurricane season runs june-november. but it seems like august/sept/oct are the most active months (even though ive chosen september to go down and visit :rotfl:)
