I have a family of 5 and can't afford to "double pack" for all of us! What should I take for this time of year (we leave on Saturday), should I take shorts or jeans? t-shirts or sweatshirts? I'm just wondering what it means when it says 50's-70's for next week, that sounds cold to me, but I'm from Texas! Has anyone been over spring break? What did you typically wear?

The weather in March can vary. On one of my March trips, it was really hot, even at night. The other times I've gone to WDW in March, we wore shorts and T shirts dunring the day but needed sweatshirts at night. We didn't bother packing jeans or pants though.

We are leaving in a few weeks and I have the same dilemma. I looked at the year-round averages and this time of year seems to be similar to when I went in November: Warm during the day but chilly at night. I just double packed then, but the kids weren't with me, so it wasn't a problem. This time, I plan to pack mostly shorts and short sleeve tops, but I'm also going to pack a couple of sweaters or sweatshirts and a few pair of jeans for everyone to put on in the evenings if it gets cold. I'm not going to worry about warm clothes for every day because I figure they'll only be wearing them for a few hours anyway.

I would check the forecast at www.accuweather.com. They post forecasts for 15 days out and are usually pretty accurate. I would think you would be comfortable in shorts/short sleeves during the day and maybe a sweatshirt added at night. I would count on it being warmer than cooler.

the weather for next week says between 40's low and 70's high...I guess I'll pack shorts/t-shirts during day and jeans/sweatshirts for evening (and maybe morning). I dread carrying this stuff for a family of five, we plan to spend all day at the parks without going back to the room!

I have a denim/spandex pair, and bought 2 soft "tee shirt material" pairs at Walmart last week. I figure they'll make it day AND night, and plan to layer a sweatshirt over a short sleeve as needed. Melanie

mecook, that's what I finally decided to do. We're taking capri's, shorts and sweatshirts to wear over t-shirts. We're wearing a pair of jeans there and packing one pair. Oh, I just can't wait!

That is exactly what I am packing for myself - a pair of capris and the rest shorts. I bought a pair of lighweight pants for my DS (2 yo) at Old Navy last week and the rest of his stuff will be shorts and one pair of sweats. I find that my legs don't get as cold as my arms so I focus on the stuff on top more than the stuff on bottom but I never find I need a pair of jeans and they take up too much room. I am fine with capris and lightweight sweats.

I've got a couple of pairs of those zip-off pants/shorts for my 3dds at JC Penny's. I bought some last year and went and got another pair for this year. They were great! The zip off legs easily fit in my back pack, and the girls were able to put them off and on as needed.
