Our youth football league decided to try a new fundraiser this year. Another school in the area has done it for several years and we have heard of it being done throughout different areas of the united states. We checked it out and everything seemed to be okay with it. Several people we know have bought these tickets in the past and won with them. They are like a football pool with points and weekly payouts. Well, someone from our league sent it into the gaming commission and it is illegal and all tickets bought will have to be refunded. Now the problem is we have to come up with another fundraiser QUICK! We usually sell raffle tickets and give away a motorcycle and other prizes. I think it is already too late to try and do this as the football season for us only runs until the end of October. Anybody have any ideas at all???

This is just an idea for a small fund raiser. Our local high school has a 50-50 raffle at every home game. Tickets are sold for $1.00, at halftime 1 ticket is drawn and that person gets half of the money raised. At some games there is quite a bit of money. This would not be a large money raiser, but it could help some.

We do a lot of fundraising for my DD's dance team. One ofour sucessful ones is doing a daily draw. It's like the daily numbers lottery. We sell tickets that are good for the whole month, on the stub is the person who bought th tickets name and address. If that number is picked from a daily # from a neighboring state...It is illegal for us to do NY State lottos numbers. This wa such a money maker fr us we are now doing it twice a year instead of just once. A lot of the churches and groups in te area do this as a fundraiser.

Do you have a local Krispy Kreme? They do a buy one, get one card that is supposed to be a great money maker for groups.

Have you thought about a silent auction? Canvass local merchants to donate different items. When doing this, the best thing to do is to give the persons that are doing the canvassing a letter (on letterhead) if available to show the merchants. On the higher end items, state that there is a minimum bid to win.

These are good ideas and I will pass them on to our board. We are just concluding our fundraiser, as I said, this is something that has been around for years, but we just got into it. What a mess. Does anyone else have ideas. We need to raise about $15,000. That is what we usually bring in with our big fundraiser. We may have to have several small ones instead.

I second the 50/50, sometimes also called split the pot. This has always been a great fundraiser for our school.

Our local youth football league does a 50/50 also. They sell tickets during all three games each Saturday & hold 3 different drawings bringing in about 100.00 each pot.

Here is a fundraiser we are doing on Saturday. We purchased group tickets to our local major league baseball team - the San Diego Padres. We sold tickets for $10.00 each and $4.00 per ticket goes to the music program at our school. I think the profit is about $7000. We are having a huge tailgate party in the parking lot and selling food and drinks for extra money too.

How about tickets to a football game? Is there a college team nearby?

I have some information about a pizza / cookie dough person that is local. PM me for some specifics.

A lot of different groups around here do the pizza kits and cookie dough. They really seem to do very well.

The only thing I can think of is to sell candy bars. Our troop did it last year, unfortuantely you have to front the cash. We made almost $900. Now it is illegal for us to do so, as well.

Good Luck

PIES PIES PIES!

We make about $3000 every time. We have the kids sell frozen peach, apple and cherry pies. Actually we usually have to STOP them from selling as the number to make gets too large to do in one day. Pick one day (or two) and everyone puts together an assembly line... rolling dough - filling - tops - bagging - You get the idea. Freeze the pies then set a pick up date, or have the kids deliver.

You know exactly how many to make, and your local grocery store just might give you a deal on the items since you will be buying such large quantities.

We sell for $8 each - usually try to do one around Easter and one around Thanksgiving. People around here look forward to it and seek the kids out to order their pie before they forget!

Another thought..... a well timed bake sale can do wonders!

We had 15 families make over $500 in 15 minutes!

We had a bake sale after the vocal music concert at our local school. My goodness those people were hungry when they exited that concert! We could have sold three times what we had as the people who exited first bought everything.

Lottery calendar, or lottery strip tickets. I know someone who sells the strip tickets daily and makes 500 a week to put towards her kids school tuition. She does this for a couple of months and it pays for 2 kids to go to a catholic school.
Krispy Kreme also does fund raising donuts, subway has the card for 23 to purchase which gives you all kinds of free subs and buy one, get one coupons as well. I beliuve some pizza places do it as well.

How about a chinese auction? those usually do well.

the little caesers pizza packs are the best sellers around here, the are kits too build your own pizza, everything comes in the kit, the best ones are the individual pizzas, I think you get nine pizzas for 18.00 and I think your organizations get half of the money, so its great money maker, I just love the crazy bread kit it is sooooo goood:p

We do a fundraiser through my company At Home America with Candles if youre interested you can pm or email me Id be glad to tell you about it. :)
