Hi, After lurking (thanks for all your help) I need some help. We sleep together: me, DH and kiddo. Disney obviously doesn't support this and won't let us get a king bed at ANY resort that I can tell, (unless it's a ridiculously expensive deluxe suite or one with a daybed) I've spent a whole lot of time with very patient Disney helpers to figure that out. So, does anyone know if we can move any of the beds together in any of the moderate resorts? Thanks!

We had a king bed at All Star Music. They can't guarantee them, but you can put in a request for them. These rooms are handicapped accessible, so obviously if there are a lot of people at the same time as you who need that, you'll have less of a chance of getting one.

Not if they have more than 2 in their party. That's the problem the OP is having.

It's the same issue at ANY resort, though - a room with a king bed holds two people plus one infant under 3 expected to sleep in a (resort-provided) pack & play. That's simply the maximum occupancy levely for a Walt Disney World room with one bed.

If a queen bed is sufficient, the OP could consider the Family Suites at All Star Music - and then use the living room section solely as a living room.

Someone onsite will have to see if beds, and the nightstand between them, can be moved. I know absolutely the beds at Pop Century can't, but the OP isn't asking about Value resorts :teeth:

Not Disney's problem. Get the two beds, you and kiddo sleep in one and DH in the other. DH will probably get the best sleep he has had in a long time. :) Or, tell them you need a King bed and a rollaway. Pay the rollaway and don't use it.

How old is the child? If he/she is under 3, they should still be allowed in a king bed room.

We get two queens....move the night stand in the middle and push the beds together.....BIGGER then a KING!!!

This is a great suggestion, or you could all sleep in a Queen size bed. Lots of co-sleeping families do this at home! The moderate CSR has queen beds, and Disney provides bed rails upon request. We've very easily done both of these things while on vacation.

Good luck!

I would not push the beds together especially if a small child will be in the middle. It would be an entrapment and sufficcation hazzard. OP I would just have you split up. You or DH sleep with the little one and the other in the other bed. If you are worrying about the child falling off the one side DH is usually on get the bed rails.

We co-sleep in a queen bed at home and when we travel. It is possible to co-sleep without a king size bed.

DD and I took one bed and DH took the other.

We normally co-sleep in a queen bed at home (which is progressively getting trickier as DD grows!).

You can get a 1 bedroom villa- there is a king bed in the master bedroom and pull out beds in the living room- so they actually sleep 4-5.

We co-sleep as well, but we are in a queen at home and we are not small people (I'm 5'11, DF is 6'5 and our 10 month old is 26lbs). I think you should be fine :)

my kids and i co-sleep or watever its called. but when we went on our halloween and christmas trip last y ear, my son's father and I just took turns (we had two beds)..one night he slept with our son, and the next day I did...what I did was i got all the extra pillows (since my son doesn't sleep with a pillow), and I tucked them on one side of the bed. so I made a sort of body pillow and I tucked it under the sheets. it worked..he would turn into it and turn back..I didn't want him to fall off. matter of fact I do that all the time when we stay at hotels..

Just as an FYI, they will provide bedrails at no charge if needed.

:lmao:

I doubt if Disney employees have any interest whatsoever in your personal sleeping preferences.

If this issue is so important to you, pay for the more expensive room or stay off property.

We used to co-sleep, within the past year, our kids have started sleeping in their own beds.

Three thoughts:
From 2001 - 2006, We co-slept in a queen bed. (Me, DH, and DD1 from 2001- 2003, and then 2 DDs starting in May 2003.) In 2006, we got a king sized bed, but co-sleeping in a queen is do-able, even with 2 kids.

We are DVC members and always get a 1 BR, so we do have a king. (Actually, on the last trip, I was alone with the kids for 5 nights, and they stayed with me.) You might want to look into those 1 BR accom.

When we were co-sleeping and travelling and ended up in accomodations with double beds or queens, my DH would sleep with one kid and I would sleep with the other.

What in the world would cause you to come to that conclusion? I'm absolutely certain that Disney doesn't give a rip if you sleep by yourself or if your entire family all piles up on one bed. Furthermore, I'd venture a guess that they wouldn't even care if you chose NOT to sleep...or to sleep on the floor. Seriously. What a bizarre conclusion you've come to.

The rooms aren't set up to be anti-cosleeping; they're set up to be cost efficient for the hotels, as well as to meet the needs of the majority of guests.

I like the suggestion of splitting up and only one of you sleeping with your child. Or, if your child is under 8 or 10, there really ought to be enough room in a Queen bed for all three of you. I've done it with a 5 year old in a queen bed, and I'm rather Pooh-sized...so it can be done relatively comfortably.

But seriously...don't start off planning your trip with such negativity as it'll ruin the rest of your trip.

Have fun!
