We are considering buying 200 points at Bay Lake Towers. We are in our 50's and have 5 grown children, 2 married. I and 2 of my children are teachers so we will be often tied to the canadian March break. We would like to take some of our kids some times. Is there a specific month of user year we should request? Should we get 2 contracts or 1. Looking for any tips from owners before we purchase. Thanks in advance.
Still debating in Canada

Splitting your points into 2 contracts of 100 each would make them easier to sell in the future than one contract of 200 points.

UY depends on your travel. If you always will have to travel in March, then I'd get a February UY so that your travel is at the beginning of your contract year. You have to bank by the end of your 8th month so traveling in the last 4 months of your contract year is more risky.

Hello. I am also a Canuck and a teacher. We just purchased yesterday. Definitely, I would say Feb. UY would work for you. We always go on March Break also. So, I did Feb. I bought a small contract 100 pts. We want to add more soon but decided 2 smaller contracts would be better JUST IN CASE we ever sell. We ended up buying Direct from Disney and it was so easy!!
The dollar is pretty good right now which was also a bonus:thumbsup2
I would strongly suggest buying soon if you decide as our Guide said Bay Lake is going to be $120 in October. (Which I had already learned from these fabulous boards:surfweb:) Good luck.

Another vote for Feb.

I am a teacher. I have a Feb. use year because we have breaks in Feb. and April. I knew I would be going during these months.

Good luck...let us know when we can congratulate you.:)

My spring break is always in March, and I've a March UY. Why is everyone suggesting "February?" :confused3 Our March UY is fine! We had picked it because it used to be there was still banking we could do in late December, that's no longer the case, but a March UY is great if you know you're always going to travel in March.

Good point. I was thinking March was one of the months that didn't have a UY as an option when I answered. March would work well for someone who always travels in March.

We have October and travel in October, Dec and March. We'll never ever go to WDW in the summer months so I never have to worry about missing our banking deadline.

March would definitely work well. However, do you ever have desire to go during December or other break times?

If you do, then you might want to think about Dec UY, as it would take care of putting all travel, including the summers, within your 8 month banking window. Even August would be covered as your banking deadline with this UY is July 31st. It would leave Sept/Oct/Nov. as less ideal. As a teacher, I am thinking these are probably not travel times for you.

Good luck!
