Help us choose a baby name

Congratulations on your expected addition!! :goodvibes

My vote is for Carter, I don't hear much of that around in the South Jersey area. Great name! I also like Brandon (my son's name) and Evan.

Good Luck choosing a name!!

Congratulations on your upcoming baby boy!!

Now for the names....I love the name Parker, that's my daughter's name but I love it for a boy too! As some other people have said Aiden is very popular, we are from the south and the town where I used to live I know from seeing it in the paper that like 15 boys in the past year have been named that!! I like the name Carter but when I say Conner and Carter together it sound like a mouthful.

When I was pregnant with my 2nd baby, before we found out she was a girl, the names that I liked were Hayden, Brady and Parker. Another name to throw into the mix is Alexander and if you wanted to shorten it: Alex or Lex

Good luck finding a name!!

Thanks! Well, it's just about a done deal here too! Aiden is his least favorite...claims it sounds like a girls name :confused3 . Anyway, consider the source :lmao:
Thanks. I don't know of, hear alot, or see Aiden too much around here. But whenever we are out (esp. last year at Disney), Conner or Connor was heard everywhere!

I have a friend with a daughter named Aiden.. so to me, it seems like a girls name too.as does Brooklyn.. Personally I like Christopher, since it's my sons name :)
of your choices, I like Conner or Parker.. Carter is cute too... not a fan od Xavier. I also like Evan and Griffin
Good luck!

My friend Alicia has a Brandon Armando, and a Jordan Evan...Great names though.

Forgot to add that I also like the names Nathan and Ryan!

We already have two Ryan's....but I really like Ryan!
Parker for me is a boys name...never thought of it for a girl. But it could be.

I posted earlier that DS's name will be brady (which you have on your list) and then you threw in Alexander, which will be his middle name.:goodvibes Both great choices:goodvibes :goodvibes

My DS is named Braeden. So Iam partial to that one. I know to little girls name Brooklyn. My Nephews are Conner and Jacob. My DH was not keen on Braeden when we were pregnant with DD...When pregnant with DS however there was no changing his mind. It suites our son, and it is kinda unique there aren't too many Braeden's that I know of. Ryan is nice also you do not here of it too often anymore. If we were ever to have another child(not likely but was discussed) we like Boyd. TTFN Kat

1. Carter
2. Aiden
3. Parker

4. Brooklyn (Its a girls name here)

Have fun choosing :)

I remember struggling when I was pregnant with my son. We ended up naming him Evan Nicholas which were both family names.

How about Christian, Chase, Donovan, Andrew (Drew), Jared, Matthew. Colin?

Good luck with finding the perfect name!!:goodvibes

I agree with some other posters, I like Andrew (Drew) and Caleb ( that would have been DD's name if she had come out a boy) and Jacob

I also like,
Gabriel
Joshua

I haven't read the posts, so here's my uninfluenced opinion.

Aiden around here is soooo popular/trendy. Every time you turn around there is an Aiden. The preschool is filled with them. Greyson too (I know, not a listed choice, but you didn't ask for a specific vote, so I just thought I'd throw that in).

Also, I here Parker and Brooklyn a bit too. But almost always for girls, especially Brooklyn. Parker does have a boy attached to it here and there, but they are older Parkers, the littler ones are the girls. And trust me, you don't want that. I have a boy with an older name, never popular, that is a "boys" name. But just as I named him, it became trendy and gender neutral. While I LOVE his name, had I known, I would have picked something else because people just always assume he is a girl (until they see him, of course), even though it is traditionally a boys name and you do still hear boys with that name. I'm lucky he's easy going because if it had been my second son, we'd have a problem.

Some names *I* like are: Wyatt, Sawyer, Barrett, Carson, Rhys, Charles with the nickname Chazz, Grant, Graeme, Walker, and McCoy.

Of the ones you list, I like Carter best.

I love this thread....I don't reply often, but thought I'd put my two cents in-

My DH and I were always going to have our fist little boy with the name Tucker- however once we got pregnant, we decided to go with Jack after my DH grandfather.

But I still love Tucker- if we were to have another one, that would be it. I also read on one of these replies- Carson, that is cute too.

Tucker
Jack
Carson

I didn't read all of the posts so it may be here, but I love the name Callem - you can call him Cal.

Don't go with an overly popular name (like Aiden). I have a DD named Hannah and there are Hannahs everywhere. We named DD #2 Reese, thinking you would never hear that name. Last week I had her in the doctor's office and she was his 3rd Reese (all girls) of the day. The other 2 were younger though, so maybe WE started the trend.

Good luck and let us know!

Just FYI, the correct spelling is Aidan, not Aiden. [from St. Aidan of Lindisfarne, first Bishop of Lindisfarne. He lived in the 5th century.]
A masculine Irish name ending in "en" would be a very odd thing, because the suffix "een" in Irish means "little" -- not an implication you want in a boy's name. The ending is always going be spelled "an" in a masculine name. Brendan, Aidan, Ciaran, Brian, Ian, etc., the pattern is clear.

Since about the 1920's, Americans have feminized any name with "lyn" anywhere in it, even though most of the traditional names like this, such as Evelyn, (and Lynn itself), were originally masculine. Any name with "lyn" in it is going to be perceived as a woman's name in the U.S.

So, Your DH has shot down everything but Carter. I like Carter, but as one of the other posters said, Conner and Carter said together is a mouthfull.
We have twins at our school named Conner and Ian. Here are some names I considered when naming our children.
Sean, Coleman (Cole), Carson, Wyatt, Ethan, Nathan, Seth, Greyson, Garrett, Aaron, Andrew, Benjamin, Will, Austin, and Elijah (Eli)

Chase is really cute...totally never thought of that one! I do however know a Chase who is a girl..but I like it:thumbsup2

Andrew (Drew), nice name also...but I really don't want to use a name that people will always shorten. I think that Christopher is a good name..and it just happens to be dh's middle name also, but I know that everyone will call him Chris...and I don't like that. I get it all the time...never Tiffany, always Tiff...always Tiff.:goodvibes And I happen to like Tiffany, and I am so a Tiffany:snooty: (My df always says..we named you right on time...you have Tiffany taste!..my dh agrees)

Your probably right, but I always go against the grain;) If it were Aiden that we chose, it would definately be AidEN. We went with ConnER and not ConnOR for our first son. While my dh is Irish, and we do embrace that part of his heritage...we are not tradionalist in the slightest.
I wish I knew how to post a picture here, I would show you our very un-tradional family....and the child that comes from that union. The most beautiful child my ds Conner is:love: ....but thanks for the history!:goodvibes

Cole is a great name..let's add that to the list. Thanks
