Help us choose a baby name

If DD had been a DS we would have named the baby Lane Christopher.
We too went for different names, unfortunately we hear DD's name a lot. Ds is still unusual most of the time.

My husband and I are having the same "discussion" about the name of our third son. The other two are Sean and Collin and we want to stay with an Irish name. The only one we can agree on is Aidan-even though I do not like that it a popular name. I wanted Quinn but my husband says he will get teased at school.:confused3 Most of the other names suggested by the other posters are already taken by family members. The only other name I am considering now is Cian-but it sounds a lot like Ian my nephew. Everyone keep the suggestions coming.
We wanted to use Quinn as a girl's name!

Do you have a Griffin in your family? The OP didn't like it, but maybe you can use it. It's not Irish though. It gets positive comments.

We like a lot of popular names and chose to avoid them. It's difficult because they are popular for a reason!

DH and I are both of Irish descent. I have loved the name Connor for years, and luckily DH liked it because that would be his name no matter what. It didn't seems all that popular at the time..he will be 10 this summer. When I got pregnant, we had a very hard time picking a boys name. I had already used the one name I liked. On our list was Ian, Gavin, Colin, Liam, and Aidan. DH liked Colin, I liked the others. I knew I would mix up the names Connor and Colin on a daily basis, I seem to always say the wrong name :lmao: As is turned out, we had a girl.

I really like Gavin Christopher or Logan Christopher. Those go really well w/ Conner Xavier.

Our friends have a Ryan Christopher. I also know a Jason Christopher and a Matthew Christopher.

Personally, I love Christopher for a first name! (Could be because I have one... ;) And, while the name used to be quite popular, it's not as trendy as it used to be. Our Christopher is the only one in both his class at school & at church. I had the name "Christopher" picked out for a my boy name since I was a teenager & didn't get my boy until I was 28! If we had had a 2nd boy, he would have been Craig.)

Conner Xavier & Christopher Riley... Christopher Carter also sounds nice.

Christopher Riley & our last name would sound good! Never considered it, but I'm having second thoughts.

Now that everyone is talking about family names they are big in our family to. Like I said before my DS first name is Thomas for his dad and great uncle. My DD name is Trafton Emily, my GGM maiden name and my DH GM first. My sister also used an old family last name for her son Payson and Joseph for our GF. My niece is named Carlin for our GU so it is actually a boys name. For some reason his nickname was Mac instead of Carl go figure. If you are still thinking about Riley we have 2 of those in our family on a boy and one a girl. My nephew is Reilly Alexander, very cute too. I really like Riley and Christopher together. I must admit I have always loved Christopher, but if it's not your favorite my cousin is named Christian same basic name but a little different and less popular. Just throwing a few more out there for you:idea:

My cousin recently had a son that they named Cayden, which I tought was a really great name, but personally I love the name Riley, and Carter as well...

When I was pregnant, I didn't think about names right away. I had a strong feeling I was having a girl, and I spent most of my time decorating and painting her room. Then, one day, I was at work in the bathroom, and the name Cheyenne just popped into my head. I called my fiance and said, "I want to name the baby Cheyenne." He said ok, and that was it. My great grandmother died before she was born, so I made her middle name my great grandmother's name, Katrina.

I like the names Sloane, Chad, and Riley for a boy. My DH's first name is christopher he only asked that his first name be the middle name we use if we have a boy. I didn't have a boy but did pick some names. Brent Christopher is the name we decided if we had a boy. One thing I did when I found out that #2 was a girl we picked the names we liked told them to our first DD and then let her pick. Best of Luck and Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
