Help!! Travel agent increased bill by $1010.52 (UPDATE)

I am booked through a TA and called DCL with questions this week. Donald (he was awesome!) took my confirmation number and answered all my questions. If you don't get help the first time call back!

I'm sending pixie dust!

Cindy
I have been following this thread with sheer disbelief, I know how I would feel if this were me. I dont know much about this TA as I live in the UK,do they have a local office where you can go down and sort it out face to face. I do understand It may be that they are only available to you by phone. I am sure this will get sorted out for you as you seem to have all the relevent paperwork from the original quote. My thoughts are with you and I do hope all turns out well in the end.

Pixie Dust being sent to you from across the pond.

Cindy,

I had a problem with our local AAA office as well (small in comparison to your problem) two years ago. I called DCL directly and the rep had to speak to a supervisor at Disney to even discuss my ressies. I did have luck however and spoke to the DCL supervisor in reservations. I would definitely call them at DCL, speak to a supervisor if necessary and they may call the AAA office for you. This may get this situation under control fast for you. They could at least help you with the date they received your reservation. Good luck.:)

Hi, me again. Well, I found out some more information. I called DCL, and they told me that they show no increase in my reservation. They also told me that my reservation was indeed booked back in October 2003.

Now here is where I get frustrated (again). I called my TA, she of course was busy with another client (according to another agent I spoke to they were very busy today) with the holiday I guess they might be busier. The other TA I spoke to told me I would have to talk to my TA, but she insists they would never add any money onto my reservation. So who's lying?!

Cindy -

You are being very patient with the agency. If it were me I am not sure I would do naything but insist to talk to a supervisor and stay on hold until they took care of me. The fact that it is a holiday weekend is no excuse, you are a client also.

I know AAA offices are locally operated and my is great (knock on wood). It is a shame that some have great reputations and others do not.

PD and keep us posted.

Alright, my TA just called, and guess what? SHE WAS MAD AT ME!!!! She was mad because she felt that I thought she wasn't doing anything for me. According to her they are very busy today and she had put a call into DCL and was waiting for a reply. I put the payment on my reservation on Tuesday, what happened to Wednesday and Thursday that she could have looked into it when she wasn't so busy.

I'm sorry, but how long does it take to look at my reservation and see why there is $1010.52 added to my bill!!!!!

She more or less said I was not her only client, and she couldn't take care of everyone at once. I replied, well this extra $1000.00 means I may have to cancel this cruise and is a big deal to me!

I WILL NEVER WORK WITH THIS TRAVEL AGENT AGAIN!!!!!!!!

I was very nice everytime I spoke to her, A simple phone call to tell me she was working on it would have been nice. Instead I had to keep calling her.

BTW, nothing has been resolved:rolleyes:

Cindy

Cindy -

You are in my thoughts and prayers!! You have been very patient with your TA. While she is assisting others, she is leaving you hanging. I would call right now and insist on speaking with the AAA office manager. If you get no resolution, I would call the corporate customer relations number immediately. If Disney has no record of her call (which she stated she had made) and they don't show a price increase, I would no longer tolerate delays or stalls.

You have done all your homework. Now AAA needs to resolve this issue, address your concerns to your satisfaction and address the
balance due immediately.

Good luck - I am sending lots of pixie dust your way.

Here's a thought, and maybe I'm wrong, but wouldn't any good TA check into this before sending me the confirmation with the increase? Or at the very least call or put a note on the confirmation that she is aware of it and looking into it? Am I expecting too much from her? I just can't believe she was angry at me. Who wouldn't be upset and want answers when $1000.00 is added to there reservation with no explanation?

Thanks for all the PD!:)

Cindy

Wow! This is unbelievable! I really hope you get everything resolved to your satisifaction and quickly!

:wizard: Pixie Dust to you!!!

Cindy,

OK my curiosity has gotten the better of me......did you tell your TA that you called DCL yourself? I am hoping that you did and she now realizes a mistake has been made and who made it. If this TA cares at all about her reputation and not to mention her commission, this will be resolved very soon. Keep up the good work and try to relax.

:) :) :)

::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes::

CB4U, I did tell her I talk to DCL, and she did seem to get a little more mad at that. I'm not sure if it is because she was mad that I wasn't waiting for her to find out the problem, or if she screwed up and now knows I know DCL didn't added it to my reservation. According to her she has a one fax from DCL with the increase on the reservation and another fax without the increase on the reservation.

Again, how long does it take to find out why it is on the reservation. Both times I spoke to DCL, they were able to pull up my reservation (although they would not give me specifics) and see what was on it. Why can't she wait on the phone until it is resolved?

Now I am confused Cindy. She called you after you already had checked with DCL and was told there was no inquiry from her, and no price increase through DCL? Did you not tell her that you had already called DCL and had the info? YOU should be the one who is mad. I think you need to do what a previous poster recommended and call the office, demand to speak with the supervisor in charge and demand that this gets straightened out TODAY. I wouldn't care how many clients they have or how busy they are today. She sounds like she is scamming you.

According to her she has a one fax from DCL with the increase on the reservation and another fax without the increase on the reservation.

Cindy, ask for copies of the Faxes from Disney. Also it is probably time to pull in the Manager of the Agency.
Good Luck!

Cindy,

The only paperwork that matters is the confirmation you have......in my eyes, she really doesn't have a leg to stand on. I'd be willing to bet she didn't call at all, but she will now!

:)

jova,

I told her I called DCL and they show no price increase. She said she had a call into them and when they get back to her she would call me. I told her they already told me there was no increase and that the increase had to be on her end. Now she get pretty agitated. She says she has a fax from DCL with the amount on it and it is on DCL's end and that is who she has to speak to. I then proceed to tell her that DCL also shows no record of her calling to investigate the matter. She says "isn't that nice, I'll call you when I find out what is going on. Bye".

Unbelieveable and unacceptable.

You are in the right, Cindy. Do not waste one more phone call with this TA. You need the manager of your AAA now.

Mega doses of pixie dust coming your way. I'm sure it will all get sorted out but what alot of unnecessary worrying on your part.

Thanks everyone, but unfortunately, my TA is closed now. I will have to wait until Monday.

I'm not going to let this ruin my weekend, I know it will all work out. I really don't think she is trying to scam me (although, that could just be my trusting nature getting me in trouble again), I have already told her twice I can't afford $1000.00 more and would have to cancel the reservation.

You have all been great, and I will keep you updated when I find out what happened.:)

Cindy

If your AAA isn't closed for the day- you really need to call NOW and ask for a supervisor- I would not tolerate her unprofessional behavior and attitude anymore. You'll be upset all weekend if you don't take the bull by the horns and get an answer today- and I can tell you she's probably miffed enough at you that even if she did get an answer today- she wouldn't call you about it. There is no excuse for the way she is treating you.
