I think I'm understanding the new system - definitely the chat part. What I"m not understanding is what attractions can be pre-selected or even selected the day of.

I'm pretty clear that we cannot pre-select or select day of for Guardians, FOP, 7D or Rise. For that, we need to purchase ILL or use Virtual Queue process for Guardians.

I'm not clear on Remy, Space, Frozen, Everest.......never can book a DAS? Or only day of?

Thanks!

The first post of this thread pinned near the top of the disABILITIES Forum has details about DAS, including a link to the list of attractions available for Advanced Selections.

The only attraction that cannot obtain day-of DAS Return Time is Guardians since it is using a virtual queue -- and even then once you have secured a boarding group and your group is called, you can show the DAS to avoid the queue at that point. But you do need to either do VQ or ILL$ first. Any other attraction that is ILL$ is still available within the park for a DAS Return Time, just not advanced selection.

I am starting to read up on DAS myself. This is all new to me. I have never needed to use it before.

Do we call? Done by chat? - not available right now. Can it be done at the resort?

Just sent out an email.

The FIRST POST in this thread is an up to date summary of how to request DAS and how it works.
Only the first post is important to read. Most of the other posts are from right before and right after DAS changes were made in October of 2021. Some are more current experiences with requesting, but didn’t change anything.

To answer your specific questions quickly:
Do we call?
No. You can either register for DAS using a link on the WDW website or in person at one of the 4 theme parks.
The link I posted gives information about DAS registration and links. This link to the WDW website DAS page has the same/similar DAS information.

Done by chat? Not available right now?
It starts out as a text chat where you will wait until a Cast Member (CM) is ready to talk to you. The CM sends out a request for you to connect to a video chat where you will be asked a few questions about your concerns with waiting in line. Be ready to discuss those concerns, not just list your disability/conditions.
If approved, the CM will take your picture and register you for DAS. Live chat is available from 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM Eastern Time.
If it says ‘not available’ all the chat slots may be temporarily full and they are not taking any more at this time. If you are outside the US and Canada you may also get that message since the chat is not officially available in Europe.

Can it be done at the resort?
No, not at your resort or at Disney Springs.
Registration can only be done by video chat or in person at one of the 4 theme parks.

They will likely just send you a summary like this post and a link to the WDW DAS webpage I linked above.

Thank you Sue. I agreed to the terms and conditions and waiting for someone in the "chat" room.

It says, If you would like to pre-register, please continue to wait and stay close to your browser until you are connected with a cast member.

I will wait for a while and see if a CM comes on.

ok.

one thing to be aware of - the chat will drop off about every 30 minutes. That is normal - the assumption I’ve gotten is that since you are actually logged in to the Disney website, if nothing is happening for a while, it logs off.
Follow the directions to get back on and you will be re-added to the text chat in the same spot you were when it dropped off

Yes, chat kept getting dropped. Not right away but then it seemed like every 5-10 minutes. I had it open in my laptop and desktop. I gave up waiting after 45 minutes.

I will try again later or tomorrow.

Thank you Sue. @SueM in MN

85 minutes second time around - gave up for the evening. A little annoyed. I saw a CM came on about 10 minutes after I got off the first time. I bet tomorrow I will see a CM came on a few minutes after I logged off.
