Help!! Ticket information overload!!

Ok, we're taking our second trip to WDW this December for a couple days before our cruise. I know that economically it is best to buy the longest tickets we can afford. At the most we would use three-days admissions and don't need the park-hopper option. How does it work to upgrade to non-expiring before leaving? Do we pay a set amount for each unused day or is it cheaper to just buy non-expiring from the beginning? Thanks for clearing up my confusion.

Cost of non-expiration varies with the number of days originally on the pass but not a set amount per day.

Buying non-expiring tickets in advance achieves more advance purchase savings. Adding non-expiration at Disney (at park Guest Relations) costs the same no matter where and when the ticket was purchased (slightly more than that component of the ticket price for advance purchases).

It is better not to procrastinate, adding non-expiration at the last minute when you have a DCL or DME bus to catch.
