I am in tears. I picked up my dress yesterday. It has been on layway. Last time I tried it on was 2 months ago. It fit perfect. I just went to try it on with my veil and everything. It won't zip! Not by much. My Mom says "Don't stress, you have plenty of time to lose alittle" which I am trying anyways. But it's just discouraging. Has anyone else had this problem?

Yes I had that same problem around the holidays with my dress last year! No stress, just work out and eat healthy for a few weeks. I ended up having to take my dress in a size. No worries!

Thank you! This is my dream dress and I can't imagine not wearing it.

We are talking about only 5-10 pounds probably. You can have that off in a month with a little effort! Be thankful you have six months and not six days!

You will be fine. You have more than enough time. Just be a little careful through the holidays and start adding some excercise and eat more fruits and veggies and cut out some of the sweets.

I know it sucks right now, but it will all work out! :thumbsup2

Don't worry! It WILL be ok. I fluctuate like 5-10 lbs ALL the time and it makes a huge difference for sizing. You have loads of time. This can actually be a positive thing...at least you found out now when it's not too late. If it helps I managed to take that weight off in about 2 months. You can totally do it and still wear your dream dress. I'm sure they can also help with alterations too!

I had the same problem. I bought my dress last August and it fit perfectly. When I tried it on again in October... I couldnt' breathe and I suddenly had back cleavage... ewwwww..... :rotfl: anyway, the seamstress was able to take it out like 3/4" and I lost 5 lbs. So, it all worked out. Like the other said, you have plenty of time to lose the weight. No worries. Just start working out a bit. I definitely recommend the Buff Brides book. it's simple and easy and it makes sense. good luck. You'll be fine and you'll look like the princess you are. Have fun!!! :goodvibes

Don't worry you will fit into your dress no problem. Everyone tends to put on some weight around the holidays. Be sure to exercise like the other ladies said but remember don't starve yourself either because that will make it worse. Drink your 8-10 glasses of water a day and you will see you will look like the princess we all know you are for your big day! Good luck :thumbsup2

I am about to have the same problem... I am going to try on my dress for the first time since I ordered it next Friday. I ordered it in April, in May I tore my meniscus and I am a long distance runner. I did not even walk for a couple months and just started running again a little while ago. I have put on 7-8 lbs. I thought I was the only bride who gained weight before her wedding!

My advice, do not stress about the weight. Stressing about it will not help at all. Eating healthily and work out regularly, and talk to you steamstress to see what she can do. Good luck :)

Thank you everyone! I feel much better. I am going to just start working out more. Drinking more water and cutting out some of the non healthy stuff I eat. Should work out fine.
