Help Selecting Our Days Off (Labor Day Weekend)

Hello Disers,

I was hoping you all could help with some pros/cons of our itinerary.

We are arriving the night of Monday, August 31, with 5 park days to split through Labor Day, Monday, September 7. (We depart on the 8th.)

The two ideas we have thought of so far are going to the parks Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday.... OR Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday, Monday.

One of the reasons we'd like to go Tues-Thurs is because those should be the slowest days of our stay. The only real non-negotiable park days are Tuesday (Daughter's sixth birthday) and Sunday (My birthday).

We do want to make sure we see WoC, Fantasmic (Blue Bayou package, probably Sunday for my birthday), Fireworks, and some parades. I understand Fantasmic and Fireworks will be weekend only, but they should run on labor day according to past years.

Anyways, thoughts?

With Labor Day being late this year, it's hard to say what the schedule will look like, but at this point, I'd guess that F! will only be presented on Fri, Sat, Sun, and Mon (Labor Day) during your trip. Fireworks may still be presented night, or they may have already dropped down to the weekends only schedule. WoC and the parades will likely be presented daily. If I'm reading your options correctly, you're trying to decide between Saturday or Monday, right? In this case, I think they're pretty interchangeable because Monday is part of a three day weekend. I would go with whichever works best for your family and how you like to tour.

Just remember Sunday will be extremely busy as it is the Disneyland Half Marathon weekend. Crowds will be strong Fri-Sun. Also, EMH/MM may not be the normal days due to the races.

That's a good point - along with Sunday, it seems like the crowds in DTD are very high on Saturday as well.
