I have done the normal touristy stuff in LA but I have 2 days in October that I have nothing to do and I need some ideas.

I am doing DL.

What are you interested in? There is so much to do here that I would need to know a little more about you and your family before I could advise. Are you going solo? Are you a a SciFi buff? Are you into cars? Do you prefer shopping? Do you like unique movie and television experiences? Are you a beach-goer An athelete?

Love to help, just don't know what you've done in the past and if you want related experiences or completely different!

I am actually open to anything since I am going alone. I was thinking about doing Catalina Island cause that is one place I haven't been yet.

Catalina Island is nice - most folks usually plan on taking the ferry over and spending the night. It can be done as a day trip, but it makes a much nicer overnight.

The reason I asked what you were into is because I had some off the beaten path tourist ideas. If you are into hiking, picking up a lunch at a lobster shack on the PCH and hiking up into Topanga National Park is a lot of fun. Great views of the ocean and the Valley at the same time! Also, another great outdoor experience in the Paramount Ranch - reached from the 101.

Quirky local things up in Los Feliz included a special appointment to see the Ackerman Sci Fi museum - in Mr. Ackerman's home!
