This will be our first trip to FW and my party includes me, DH, DS9, DD3, mom and dad. My concern is after being in a park all day in July and coming home sweaty and yucky, how are all 6 of us going to be able to take a bath/shower?

We just went over spring break and had my parents along with us- we were 8 all together. Granted it is not as hot in April as it is in July- but what we did wasset up "groups" so to speak. I know the ladies CS has 3 showers and I think the mens does as well. I would go with my youngest, who is 2 and doesnt "shower" yet, and my mom would take my 5yo While She was washing in one shower, I would give the little ones a quick wash down so she could take them while I showered. My DH and dad would take the older boys and do pretty much the same- one would supervise the boys getting showered and dressed while the other was showering, so that there would always be an adult watching over the kids at all times. It takes a little bit longer sometimes, but things usually find a way to work themselves out...

Worst cast- if someone has to wait a long time to get in the showers- they can always jump into the pool to cool off for a while :cool1:

Thats what we did on our last weekend there. It was soooo muggy at night I just wanted to cool off b4 going to bed, so we took a late night swim, a cool shower and then heded off to bed :thumbsup2

Don't sweat the small stuff like that- it'll work itslef out- just enjoy your trip!

If your thinking how is everyone going to bathe in the tiny shower in your camper, don't worry. As the previous poster stated, there are plenty of showers in the comfort station with ENDLESS hot water.

There are 4 showers in the ladies side (3 standard, and 1 accessible), and probably the same on the mens side. Each of the showers is completely private.

The accessible stall is even large enough if you would like to bring a small kiddie pool or tub for the little one to sit in and splash around while you shower.

If you request a cabin near the pool, there is a comfort station at the pool with extra showers. Also if you request Loop 2100, there is a comfort station in Loop 1100 that is very close by.

Carol, are you talking about the Cabin pool? The men's restroom at the Cabin pool does not have showers. I assume that the women's does not either. And, in case anyone is interested, there are also not any showers in the restrooms at the main pool. There are the outdoor ones to use to rinse off with cold water, but no showers in the restrooms.

Ooops, I stand corrected. Well then, request a cabin in the 2100 Loop, then some of your crew can go to the comfort station in the 1100 Loop.

:thumbsup2 I agree with that.

But, to the OP: What were you considering as an alternative to a cabin? Two hotel rooms? A suite? For the money, the cabin is still the best bet for a party of 6. You will just have to figure out a schedule for who showers when.

Or, use the comfort station, as others have suggested.

You could also let the kids take turns with a quick bath in the cabin while 1 person in the group stays back to watch them and as soon as the first person from the CS returns and can watch the kids, the "kid watching adult" can head off to the CS or just shower in the cabin since the kids will be supervised at that point.
You are a planner, like me. As long as I have a game plan, I am good to go. I think you now have several good options that will work beautifully.
Another idea. I know my parents would tire out way before we would. More than likely, they would head back before us. If that would be the case, they could go on and shower before anyone else gets back and bathe the kids when you, DH, DD, and DS return. You and DH could go to CS and probably return at about the same time the kids are finishing up. Just in time for everyone to have a bedtime snack.:)
Regardless, it will all work out!

We have stayed with 6 in the cabins many many times. Always used the shower in the cabin, and managed just fine. We did use the kitchen as a "2nd" sink for teeth, hair, small childen etc. Very nice to have the room, and with a little timing we got along great. As the PP stated, you could always use the other showers if need be.

Personally, I like to keep a little Disney magic with me long after the vacation is over, so I don't shower while there. Some call it dirt, I call it pixie dust.

pixiedust: I bet your wife calls that pixie dust of yours" B.O!" ::yes::

:lmao:

We had 5 adults and a 5 year old. This is what we did. At least three of us took showers at night. My DS took a bath only about 3 times in 6 days. You can just shower them down after the pool with fresh water. The other two took showers in the morning. Normally, I would spend more time getting ready but we just going to get wet again on the rides. So why bother. Also, we requested a cabin in the 2100 loop. There was a comfort station really close too. That was the back up. We never needed it.

DH and I have a lot of Army time so sharing a bathroom was a no brainer. My DS had the hardest time.

We honestly didn't have a hard time. I think you will do fine.

:rotfl2: That might be the kinda Disney Magic we could do without. :rotfl:

Are we the only family that showers together? It saves alot of time and a ton of hot water. We like to tell people that the family that showers yogether stays together. :thumbsup2

When I'm alone I shower all by myself.

Come to think of it , when I drink alone, I'm by myself too.

I don't know, I think all this showering/bathing stuff has been blown WAY out of proportion. Seems like a waste of time and water to me.
