Help! Rates for Easter week are outragous!

I am looking at the airline and car rental rate for spring break/Easter. The car reantal rates are nearly a thousand and the air fare is @ $400 per person Is it too early to book? I want to book my accomadations early so we will can get what we want while it is still available. I am afraid to put down a deposit because with high transportation costs I may not be able to afford the trip.

We are researching right now too and also noticed airfares are a way up. Haven't researched car rentals yet.

Next year may just be the year that we decide to drive down ... 1 - 75 here we come.
