I am getting ready to purchase our premium annual passes and I have a question! I have a DD9 that will be 10 in June. We have started adding her as an adult on the dining plan. Do I need to purchase her an adult annual pass to purchase her the adult dining plan or does it matter as long as I PAY adult pricing on the dining plan for her? Also, say i get her the childs ticket and her bday is a few months after the purchase of the annual pass when she enters "adult ticket" age....will they still honor that ticket or do I have to pay the difference?:worship::confused3 Might be silly questions but I am trying to get all my ducks in a row and customer service is closed for the night....any help is appreciated and thanks in advance.

Disney doesn't penalize children for getting older. If she is 9 at the beginning of the pass, it's ok for her to have a birthday and still use the child AP. They might even upgrade it to an adult one.

It's my understanding that you buy the annual pass based on the child's age at the time of purchase. So if your daughter is 9 you buy her a child's AP. And she can continue to use it until it expires. It's the same way when you buy park tickets and the child celebrates a birthday during the trip. Also it's the same for the DDP, if your child is under age 10 at the time the trip starts you can buy her a child's DDP. Or if your preference is to get her an adult DDP that's your choice. The fact that she's on a child's AP is not material.

Unless you buy the AP at WDW, it will not be activated until you arrive and use it the first time and that is when the clock starts ticking in the AP. You should purchase an AP based on the age of your child when you activate the pass. If the child will be 9 when you activate, you purchase an AP for a guest 3-9. If the child will be 10 when you activate, you purchase an AP for guest 10+.

Just like when you purchase MYW tickets for a child for a trip purchased through Disney. You buy the ticket based on the age of the child when the trip starts and you first use the ticket.
