Backgroiund: We stayed at POFQ in Jan 2008 with DH, DD, my self in a connecting room with MIL and FIL. Essentially we have the same players this time but have added a baby to that mix! Our DS will be turning 9 mo during our trip in Oct.

We really liked POFQ. It was beautiful and compact which are both pluses. Also it was first on the bus route, so we could always find a seat. Oh, and the beignets!!!

But DH is convinced we should branch out. Well, or at least that was his feelings before the in-laws decided they would join us for this trip too!!! :thumbsup2 Now I am debating if POR is going to overwhelm them and if we might not be better off back at POFQ so they would feel more comfortable and have less far too walk. We will be on the DP, bringing breakfast foods so probably not eating in the resort much if at all and DH will be travelling daily to the DTD Hilton for a conference (thus we wanted to be at PO vs CSR/CBR).

So what are your thoughts? (And specifics like rooms that have been renovated and buildings closest to bus stops etc would be very helpful!)

Our first trip we stayed at FQ too. We were very happy with it but when we went back for our second trip we wanted to try something new. So we chose the POR. We got to stay in the Mansion and with a water view. We loved it. The walk wasn't bad either.
So this trip I couldn't make up my mind on which one and if we should again try another new place. My DH said he loved staying at POR and wants to stay there again. So we are booked with them. I will make a request for the same building as before but if not oh well. We can't wait to go.

Since the in-laws will be with you and it sounds like walking might be an issue, I would stay at POFQ. BUT on one of your nights heading back from a park I would take the bus to POR and check it out, try and see piano Bob (great fun) and then take the boat back to POFQ. We like both resorts of course my DW prefers POFQ while I like POR.

We have stayed at both and found to things to love about both.

Since you have already stayed at POFQ and you're going to have in-laws and a baby in tow, I'm thinking you might be better off to stay there again. Like a PP said, you can always get off the bus at POR (or walk or take the boat over) and walk around to get a feel for it and your next trip.

We stayed at POR with a 14 mo. old, but we had 5 adults, so there was always a "fresh pair of arms" to carry her. Also, my DS (15) and DSIL were always willing to make a run to the store or food court if she needed something while we were in the rooms. We were in Acadian House and didn't think our walk to anything was too far...but we were definitely closer to everything at POFQ.

As for the busses, POFQ is the 1st pick up at the resort, but you all catch the bus together at the parks and that has been the only time we ever had an issue with not getting a seat. It's fine for myself, DH, DS, and DSIL to stand, but there were a few times when DD had to stand and try to hold on to a sleeping 14 mo. old while grown men just sat and looked at her or someone let their child lay down on the seats taking up 2 or 3. Hope this doesn't happen to you, but staying at POFQ doesn't necessarily guarantee you a seat on the bus.

You'll have a great trip either way! Like I said we loved both of these resorts.

We have stayed at the POR three times and have always had a nice stay but we really wanted to get into POFQ but it was booked every time...well in June 09 we finally got into POFQ and we LOVED it! Alot calmer, quieter and less hectic than POR and the food court was small but it was never mobbed like POR can be.

For us it is POFQ all the way!

Just got back from a 12 night stay at POFQ. It was awesome. Love everything about this hotel so much so we booked the bounce back here.
I wanted to try POR but DH said nope. He said this place was great.
Can't wait to go back. :cool1::thumbsup2:lovestruc
