I am trying to decide whether to stay at the Poly in a lagoon view, or at the Boardwalk in a water view in mid-December. Pricing is about the same. From what I remember, the Boardwalk is more "Christmassy", but the Poly is on the monorail & my youngest will only be 1 year old. Any suggestions?

Personally we LOVE the boardwalk! But with a one year old, you might prefer the Poly.

I like the BW because you have a lot to do right out your front door. If you don't feel like going to a park at night you can just take a walk around the bw area. There are a lot of food choices at BW. There is a nice kiddy pool.

The Poly is so close to the MK, where I imagine you will spend a lot of time. I think the poly is a great resort.

We just stayed at the Polynesian and you sure can't beat if for convenience! The Boardwalk is really nice. I'm sure it looks wonderful at Christmas. If your child was older I would say go with Boardwalk but the monorail taking you right to MK, is too wonderful for words.

Another thing to possibly consider is the proximity of the Contemporary and the Grand Floridian to the Polynesian. They're both really easy to get to via monorail which was incidently one of my son's favorite rides when he was little. Travel to Epcot is relatively easy too.

I have stayed at both and love the BWI now that my kids are older but our first family trip we did at the Poly with a 3 and 6 year old and the Poly was wonderful. We rode that monorail like crazy and could jump in and out of MK in a flash! My kids loved playing in the sand on the beach. That semi self-serve resturant was very convenient (Cap'n Jacks??) I remember making peanut butter toast for my 3 year old every morning there! The only thing DH and I didn't like about the Poly was the quietness at night, not much to do in the evening, that is one thing we love about the BWI now.

I would say the Boardwalk. I don't think your 1 yo will really appreciate being on the monorail or so close to MK for a year or two. The convenience of Epcot, MGM and Boardwalk outweigh access to the monorail for me.

They are both beautiful resorts. I think your best bet is to make your decision based on where you'll spend more time- Epcot/MGM or MK?

If your answer is MK then definitely stay at the Poly because you'll have the monrail. At The BW you'd have to take a bus and it's shared with the other resorts so it can be a longer trip.

If you said MGM/Epcot then definitely stay at the BW because then you have a boat or can even walk to these parks.

I think if you base your decision on those factors you won't be disappointed with your choice.

Let us know what you decide!!
