Trip date early dec. 2005 POR is all booked and we had our heart set on it! I've never been but after months of planning we had decided. We are doing a split between POP and another but now I don't know which mod to go with. It will be myself 28 my mother and a 13 year old underprivilidged girl who has never been out of our county of 25,000. So this will be her first trip outy of Canada too! She's loves to swim! I'm also taking into consideration food courts. We will have small unperishables in our room but we will have only Disney transportation to take us anywhere. Also I have to keep my budget as low as possible. (There's only so many extra shifts I can handle :sad2: ) can anyone compare transportation from resorts or any info that would help. :worship: Please, please!!!! With a kitchen sink sundae on top!!!!!

I would recommend CSR (Coronado Springs) - pool is great, also close to Blizzard Beach, and to me has a nice theme than CBR - if you want to be close to Downtown Disney and Typhoon Lagoon, CBR is the place to be

Any ideas on activities/parks etc. that are most important? This way can give a more informed opinion

cheers

We found bus transportation very good at Coronado Springs and also really liked the pool. There is a small fridge in each room. Golf carts run regularly around the lake to help with the long walks from the food court to your room.

I'm still working out activities and yes Typhoon Lagoon is a great one, hope they're open then! I haven't been to a Disney waterpark since Rivercountry! :hyper: My mother has difficulty walking so we might order a chair for her. Is there any room reccommendations you can make for us? Close to the buses is high priority because my mother has no problem sending me as runner to the foodcourts!! :goodvibes Thanks for the quick responses!!

BTW Jerri (13) has never been on a thrill ride! She wants Tower of Terror to be the first thing she goes on! :scared1: I'll have to see with the planning but I am so excited for her! (and scared as I haven't been on that one and I'll need to be brave faced! ) lol

i would vote to not do cornado springs

to spread out, and too much like a convention center.

go with cbr

CBR!!! One of our family favorites, closer to Epcot which is nice. CSR is close to AK and we don't find it convienient!

LOL! I think I'm more confused than when I started! I have changed the ressies to Cor and now I'm second guessing. (and my palms are sweating)

Did you try for Port Orleans French Quarter? That would be my first pick out of the mods. The resort is nice and compact. The food court food was very good for food court fare. We found the transportation to be good also. The rooms were renovated a year ago and look great! :sunny:

for PO to completely filled this early - is , very, very strange.

I won't say you can't have it - just not right now.

Kept checking.

My family would pick CSR over CBR. The boys love to eat at Pepper Market and the Dig site is a lot of fun for kids.

Pop Warner Superbowl is the beginning of Dec. Last year they had most of the resort book just for the teams!

Why not save the extra $ and spend your whole trip at Pop? It is a very fun resort and really, are you there for the resorts or the parks? I feel your guest would rather spend more time enjoying the parks and all of the Christmas decorations than at the resort. Just something to hink about!
PS...you would have a little extra $ to do something fun like Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party!

I checked availablity and you can get a room Dec. 3-11 at PO Riverside. What are your dates? Call again!

Is that the first or second week of December? So far the Disney web site is showing availability for both weeks. You scared me, because we were planning on going and staying the first week of December at POR. Call CRO and try to get POR again, and if they tell you it's booked up, keep trying, something's bound to open up between now and then. :earsboy:

Hey, we posted at the exact same time. You pirate, are you an ECU Pirate, a Topsail Pirate, or a Swansboro Pirate? pirate:

I would also go with Port Orleans French Quarters!!! It is a smaller moderate resort with the food court and "serpant pool and slide" close to the rooms. It also has a boat to Downtown Disney. It is a "sister"hotel ,I believe to POR.I have not stayed there myself, but I visited a girlfriend and her family there while our family was staying at POR (We took the boat ride from POR to PO French Quarters )and my daughter loved swimming in their pool....Mardi Gras theme !!!!!! Very colorful! :earsgirl: princess: Have fun ...

If you don't mind my asking...what are the dates you are looking for? The only reason I can think of POR being full already would be during the Pop Warner...and like others have said they are showing availability on the internet :).
I know it is a really tough decision with the whole resort thing. Good luck.
Oh we have only stayed at POR and loved it but the others look nice also.

I would keep calling for POR, maybe the CM you got was misinformed, or if you were trying to book for more than 10 nights that seems to pose a problem too (at least with a code it does). When I tried to book 14 nights at an AP rate the CM first told me it was unavailable until she figured out that I couldn't make the reservation for more than 10 nights.

Do not stay at Riverside during Pop Warner week! I worked in the food court at that time... the lines are longer than most any other time of the year, and the kids are loud and out of control. Aside from how I felt as a Cast Member, guests kept asking me what was going on and why they were so loud and after they left, the guests kept commenting on how quiet it was now.

I know they stay mostly at Riverside, and I think one other resort. They were banned from one other for destoying stuff. Any other time of the year I would tell you that you should stay at Riverside because it's wonderful, but you'd be best picking somewhere else to stay during Pop Warner week.

CSR is a great resort. Check out my CSR website below for pics, links and info
