Hello All!!!! I am hoping there is someone out there who can simplify things for me. We are planning a trip on Apr. 15-22nd and I am looking into making some choices on where to eat. We've opted for the dining plan with qs, ts, and a snack. However, to say I have an extremely picky 8 year old eater would be an understatement. (He loves pizza, hotdogs and turkey sandwiches). I have explained to him that he will have to broaden his horizons while we are there. (He exists on fruit and yogurt here). Long story short....any suggestions on places to eat? Also, does the Rainforest cafe accept the meal plan? Can I eat at dining areas in other resorts even if I am staying at the Pop Century? We would like to have ts for dinner nightly and cs for either breakfast or lunch. Thanks in advance for your replies and I am looking forward to your responses. I also should have mentioned we are planning on visiting all 4 parks and the water parks as well. THANK YOU!!!!!

You can eat at any resort. You don't have to be staying there to eat there. We are eating at several resorts and are staying at a value resort.

The Rainforest Cafe does not :( accept the dining plan! I really wish that it did. The Rex doesn't either.

You can find menus on Disney's website (they don't show kid's menus though). When I called to make my reservations I asked SO many questions. I wanted to make sure that my picky eaters would actually eat too!

Try buffets. Most buffets have something even the pickiest child will eat. And all party members can eat anything that's on the buffet.

My 8yr old is also picky but has no problem at any of the restaurants. The childrens menus are very simple and almost always have a burger pizza or chicken nuggets. For counter service, I suggest France in Epcot...they have a french bread pizza and ham and cheese croissants and the desserts are great! Another counter service, Caseys in MK for hot dogs or corn dog nuggets. The menus are also on allears.net, including the kids menus. Some sit down...in Epcot we love Tutto Italia and Chefs de France. Crystal Palace is a great buffet in MK. Sci Fi in HS. Just some suggestions. I would definitely check out some menus though.

Just wrote a whole lot for you and then the page re-loaded! Here's what we do with our picky eater:

Chef Mickey's + Crystal Palace - basically the same buffet, food, but good options for your picky eater. Pizza, mac and cheese, chicken nuggets, carved meats and mashed potatoes. Yummy desserts.

Cinderella's Castle meals are great for kids - last time I was there they brought us pasta with butter and hot dogs. I like the food there myself.

I don't like Liberty Tree Tavern myself, but others do. You may have luck because of the carved Turkey.

For CS you should have lots of luck:

Cosmic Rays - they have everything! hot dogs, hamburgers, PB&J, chicken nuggets, yogurt and so much more. If he really likes hot dogs, take him to Casey's Corner.

For Animal Kingdom, Pizzafari is a good bet, but we love Flame Tree BBQ - they have yogurt, fruit and some other picky-friendly stuff.

For Hollywood Studios, Rosies and Studio Catering are OK, but we think that the Pizza Planet isn't as bad as everyone says - it's pizza that your kids will eat, and sometimes that is all that matters!

Good luck!

Definitely agree with PP's who suggest Buffet's !

We've done H&V (DHS) and Cape May (Epcot Resort/BC) Buffet for that reason... (It's also a sneaky way to get picky kids to try other things...because they can get a sample if it is appealing...and go back for more if they like it) BOTH offer a "Kids Buffet" with pizza/chicken nuggets/macnchs, etc. AND Both have a Great Dessert Buffet....H&V has the "Make your own Sundae" buffet....:lovestruc

ALSO - Agree on CRT (2xTS) and Cosmic Rays (CS).:thumbsup2

It has been tricky for us to plan CS Breakfast as we have stayed at BC the last 3 times...however POP may have a CS Breakfast option. I LOVE bringing load of breakfast type foods and making kids eat in the room...something to do while Dad/Sis/Bro is in the bathroom and "I can't get ready".....

PLUS - less "whines" while headed to breakfast... everyone has something in their tummy. I bring cereal, cereal bars, muffins, grits, oatmeal, etc. etc.

For EPCOT...plan to eat CS at The LAND...best selection. For DHS...plan to eat CS at Sunset Market...best selection. (Pizza, hot dogs, and Toluca Turkey)

Hope that helps...you will have a wonderful time!

Mary
