Help, please?

How do you all do it? I am the heaviest I have ever been and it stinks! I know it's my own fault - I lost my Dad after a long illness and I comfort ate for a year while he was sick, and I still am - and now my clothes don't fit. Tried weight watchers - nope. Any advice is more than welcome - please?
 
Everyone is different as to what plan will work for them. I think you have done the first thing and that is acknowledge that you want to lose weight. I am back to being at my heaviest weight again and I am just trying to take it one day at a time. I believe that if you stick around on these boards you will find so much encouragement and inspiration. I know that I have and did when I lost my weight the first time.

I don't have any magic words for you, but wanted you to know that I'm thinking about you and will keep you in my prayers. I know how difficult it is to watch a father be sick and then lose them. My dad had ALS and suffered for 16 months before he passed away in 1999 at the age of 51. I did a lot of comfort eating as well so I do understand where you are coming from.

Take it one step and one day at a time. Make changes slowly, nothing drastic and not too much at one time would be my recommendation.

Tammy, thank you so much for your words of encouragement. I'm sorry it took me so long to post back. But - the big news - I went to my first WW meeting today! First steps, right? I will let you know how it goes....
 
Good for you!!! I just went and re-signed this morning after about 3 years. It felt good didn't it. You can do it I know you can. Keep us posted.
 

Well, here we both go! When I tried WW before, it was online - I am hoping that going to meetings will help.

Catherine, you don't find it difficult doing ww online that there is no one to hold you accountable but yourself?[maybe it's just weak lil' me...]
 
I tried just doing WW online but I need to be accountable to go WI and the meetings are encouraging as you listen to people share. I do like the on-line features with the receipes and point/weight tracking.
