Help please!! My Husky just ate a big Brownie

My DH just reminded me that his brother's chocolate lab once ate two entire boxes of chocolate bars his son was selling for school (50 per box).

She was fine. I think she's about 15 or 16 now - and still wolfing down anything that's not nailed down! :rotfl:

Our black lab growing up ate an ENTIRE bag of Hershey's Kisses. We didn't even know it until we saw something glinting in her teeth -- the foil wrappers! Didn't even faze her.

Our black lab did the same thing last Christmas. My DH kept accusing everyone of eating his kisses. We found some chewed up wrappers behind a chair. I told everyone at New Years that if they found any Hershey Kisses out in the snow DON'T EAT Them!!!!!

Silly dog was fine. My DH says he is not smart enough to know it should make him sick.

haha...all hilarious stories...the only chocolate that is bad for a dog is the unsweetened chocolate...the icky baking type. And it has to be a lot more than was in a brownie...

I wouldnt worry, probably just a little diahhrea if hes not used to such sweet/rich foods...

Good luck!

My brother's German Shepherd ate a package of chocolated ex-lax. Except for the obvious, he had no other ill effects!

I think your dog will be fine. Ours have gotten into food (chocolate included) that they shouldn't have and were fine. If you are truly worried call the vet and I'm sure they will ease your worries.

:confused3 What is it about chocolate and huskies?

My little boy Siberian got into a styrofoam container from Ohama Steaks. Silly UPS driver left it on the porch with two dogs looking at him. Inside was steak, chicken, potatoes and a chocolate cake. Guess what the boy ate?

He was little hyped up for the night, but no other ill effects.

His sister, however, she got the steak. :thumbsup2 Girls are smarter than boys. ;)

My sister's standard poodle LOVED chocolate. Our step mom sent DS and her family's Christmas presents in a brown paper wrapped box. A pound of chocolates were in the box. Murphy chewed the corner of the box and ate the entire pound of candy. And ignored the box of dog treats that were HER Christmas present. She was fine.

My mom's dog-- a jack Russell mix-- ate a bunch of chocolate covered macadamia nuts a few years ago. Apparently the nuts are even more toxic to dogs than the chocolate. She was in the hospital for about 5 days but she made it thru alright.

Also I had a Malamute growing up. Our neighbor let her finish off his ice pop. He wasn't paying attention and the next thing you know Tundra swallowed the stick too. It wasn't too long til..."poop-cicle!!!". LOL!

We have a miniature doxy that opened, peeled and ate a whole bag of kisses! She lived to tell the tale too without being sick! Gotta love her!:goodvibes

Don't worry. My dog of a long time ago ate an entire pound of chocolate covered peanuts and was fine.

My dog (about 20 years ago) ate an entire bag of M&Ms (Costco size bag). I never even knew it until weeks later when I found a few shreds of the bag. I know that it was weeks later as it was a room he was usually locked out of - but had been put there one day when a maintenance person came.

My neighbor's corgi mix ate a box of Whitman's chocolate and did a Linds Blair impression. He was fine. My friend's Boston ate a bunch of Mrs. Field's cookies-again, threw up a bit but was fine. I am sure your pup will be, too!

Our mutt once at TWO of those HUGE, gigantic Hershey's bars (and a loaf of Wonder bread ;)), and while he looked sorry that he had done that a little afterwards  he never threw up or had the runs or anything and was his sparky self the next day.

Your Bandit will be just fine, I am sure.

A woman I know had a German Shepard [6 or 8 months old at the time] and that dog ate a party size bag of Doritos and an ENTIRE box of Oreo cookies......dog vomited about 4 times but other than that was fine. Like PP have said for a dog that size you would have to feed them a very concentrated amount of chocolate.

I'd expect Diarrhea/vomiting at the most-but odds are nothing will happen......good luck!
