HELP! Please help planning a VERY SPECIAL birthday!

Hello all-

First post here and I am REALLY glad I found this. Long story short, my wife and I were just married last October and we spent our honeymoon in Disney. *BIG sigh....* It was perfect. We fell more in love with each other and fell in love with Disney. It took us ten years to get married (long drawn out sob story) and I love my Wife dearly. Well, her birthday is coming up and I am suprising her with a Disney trip in August. This is where I need your help.

I NEED IDEAS!!! I was thinking of one of the illumination cruises or something. She LOVES fireworks and if I could pull off a cruise, that would be amazing. Also I am looking for a really romantic dinner too. Btw, her b-day is Aug 26th. I was thinking dinner and a cruise. We will be in Epcot in the morning and the Magic Kingdom that night. I want to do the nice romantic dinner but we will be in the Magic Kingdom and it doesn't look like there are that many romantic dinner spots there. PLEASE help... I want to make her first birthday married to be one she absolutely never forgets...

P.S. Between the nice weather and Disney, we are actually planning to MOVE to Fl next year. Just a side note... Disney IS the happiest place on Earth!

EXACTLY what I was thinking.

I bookedthe Grand 1 for my 40th bday last July and we had a Wishes fireworks cruise with private dining and it was beautiful all around. Very special!

I am not sure how to do that. I saw that on these boards they have it set up to split the cost with other couples? Is that right? I would love to do the $250 solo if I could but it would be nice if I could cut that down. I would also love to do dinner on one. We have the dining plan, can we use that? And how would I set that up?

if you're talking about wishes/illuminations cruises, it's your party alone. some people like to combine groups to reduce the per person cost, that's all.

the grand 1 you ain't getting for $250 though. i think it's around $450 or so per hour. plus dining.

and no, DDP not accepted for the cruises.

You could make ressies for the Rose and Crown in Epcot. There is a patio area and if you time it right, you can watch Illuminations while eating your dinnner/dessert. Tell them when you make the reservations that it is her bday. Maybe they will MAKE SURE you get a table on the patio.

I have also heard about dessert partys for Illuminations. Maybe someone can help with that info???

Josh to Dis! Sounds like you are a great hubby! I know you are new here so I do not know what you have found and have not so I am going to point you to several threads that will hopefully help you out. People were gracious enough to send me these and they have helped us lots! I also do not know what your budget is so some of them may be above what you are wanting to spend but hopefully something will help you out. :

I am not sure where you are staying but 5 days before you go you need to call the front desk and ask about getting balloons for her. It is not something they promise but they do try and if you do get them they are free. They will also ask about her favorite character. I would make a note on any ADR that you want to be special that it is her birthday. You also need to note on your ressie that it is her bday ... this just gives you an extra chance at some pixie dust this does not mean it is definately going to happen. If you want anything for sure you need to call and plan it and pay for it.

We are celebrating DD and DS's bdays in Disney in July/Aug. We have a wishes celebration cruise scheduled for one night they decorate the barge with a happy birthday banner and balloons. You could split this with other couples or families which would lessen your cost which is what we are doing. You can have private dining on the cruise or order a bday cake another thing we are doing. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1173219 Lots of pictures of cakes that are avaible and how to order and who to call.

There is also gifts of a lifetime they can plan just about anything you can dream up. We are trying to arrange for them to decorate the room for the kids while we are out on our cruise. There is also Disney Florist www.disneyflorist.com if you look under birthday it shows lots of birthday things they do. If you search tiara there is a very girly tiara and slipper that I think any woman would be thrilled to have called Create a Fairy Tale there is also Crown Her a Princess.
