I have used care calendar.org and it is fantastic! We used it for a family with a new baby, but I liked that the new mommy could go to the calendar and block off dates, if she knew they wouldn't need food then. It also ensures that they don't get lasagna 3times in a week

We did meals for a friend with 3kids that had terminal liver cancer

, for a long time. The lettuce salads kind of piled up, so go easy on the salads. One lady asked Sam, the youngest boy, age 8, what he wanted and he said steak and baked potatoes! The kiddos got tired of casseroles. Also, delivering fresh fruit to them was helpful, as was snacky things, like yogurt, cheese cubes, packaged snacks, juice boxes, lunch meat and bread....this is good for a non-cook friend to take on.
This is a great thing for you to do, this will really be a huge help during this stressful time.
